Maruti Suzuki Jimny's introduction at the end of May claimed that the price had been leaked before its release. The SUV would reportedly be offered in two models, the Zeta and the Alpha, with a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While the top-spec Alpha AT variant will cost Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the entry-level Zeta MT variant is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. The SUV, which can be reserved for a symbolic sum of Rs 25,000, immediately attracted over 15,000 reservations upon its introduction at the Auto Expo 2023.
Due to Jimny's strong following, Maruti had projected 3,000 confirmed bookings, according to a statement in January. The SUV comes with either a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox. Its 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. The car has a spare wheel with a tailgate hinge, 15-inch wheels, bumper-mounted tail lamps and circular LED headlamps.
The most expensive version of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny includes a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Arkamys stereo, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, automatic headlights, auto air conditioning, cruise control, smart keyless entry with push-button engine start/stop, LED headlamps with DRLs, and electrically folding side mirrors. Domestic sales increased 9% to 1,43,558 units in April compared to the same month last year, while the automaker's overall wholesales increased 7% to 1,60,529 vehicles.
