Mumbai, January 20, 2024: The much-anticipated Vintage and Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI) Annual Vintage Car Fiesta is set to captivate enthusiasts as it rolls into action from January 26 to 28 at the prestigious World Trade Centre (WTC), Cuffe Parade.
More than a hundred meticulously preserved vintage and classic cars, including a dazzling array of supercars, will take centre stage during this automotive extravaganza. The event kicks off at 9 am from the WTC, with over 90 two-wheelers accompanying the procession to Worli Seaface and back. Leading the convoy is the iconic 1950 MG of Daman Thakore, having recently embarked on a 12,000-kilometer journey across 16 countries to celebrate 100 years of MG.
The exhibition, showcasing these automotive treasures, will be open to the public at the World Trade Center, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Last year's edition, held on February 12, witnessed a remarkable turnout with 150 vintage cars and 50 bikes. The rally was flagged off by Maharashtra Tourism Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, WIAA Chairman Nitin Dossa, Vijay Kalankari of the WTC, and Vivek Phansalkar, the Mumbai Police Commissioner.
The prestigious Concours d’Elegance accolades were claimed by Rajiv Kher for his 1934 Packard Super 8 in the vintage category, and Yohan Poonawala for his 1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith in the classic category, previously owned and customized by the Maharaja of Mysore. Poonawala, a recipient of the special category award "Global Ambassador for India," was acknowledged for his significant contribution to restoring heritage vehicles and elevating India's standing in international vintage car contests.
Shankar Sundaram and Sujatha Shankar from Chennai, proud owners of a meticulously restored 1935 Rolls Royce Phantom III under the Amalgamations Group, clinched the coveted first prize in the best-restored vintage car category.
