Fiat Panda Line Up To Have Multiple Body Styles

Fiat Panda Line-Up to Have Multiple Body Styles

Fiat recently unveiled the radically styled 5-seat Grande Panda, set to position itself above the outgoing and popular Panda small SUV in its global line-up. Owned by Stellantis, the Italian brand plans to further expand the Panda range with the introduction of various new models shortly.

Fiat Panda Line-Up: What’s in Store?

As reported by Autocar UK, Stellantis will leverage its Common Modular Platform (CMP) to add more models to the Fiat Panda family. The Grande Panda shares its underpinnings with the Citroen C3 and several other CMP-based models. Originally engineered for developing markets, the CMP has been adapted for global models and can accommodate both internal combustion and battery-electric powertrains.

Future Expansions:

Larger SUVs: Fiat plans to introduce mid-size SUVs and SUV coupes under the Panda brand, similar in size to the Duster. These models will share many components to maintain competitive pricing.

Lifestyle Pickup Truck: A lifestyle pickup truck is also on the cards, offering a versatile option for Panda enthusiasts.

MPV: An MPV model will be added to the line-up, catering to families and larger groups.

Battery-Powered Versions: Future battery-powered versions of these body styles are a possibility, aligning with the growing trend toward electric vehicles.

All models in this expanded line-up will feature styling cues similar to the Grande Panda. Fiat has committed to introducing one new body style for the Panda family each year.

Impact in India:

In India, Stellantis will continue to market CMP-based models under the Jeep and Citroen brands. Jeep is developing a new Creta-rivalling SUV based on the CMP, and Citroen will introduce the Basalt Coupe SUV, joining the existing C3 and C3 Aircross models.

This expansion of the Fiat Panda line-up showcases Stellantis' commitment to providing versatile and competitive options for consumers globally. With the introduction of various body styles and potential electric versions, Fiat aims to cater to a broad range of preferences and needs in the automotive market.
