In India, Volkswagen introduces its most expensive SUV to date: a sleek, seven-seater with cutting-edge technology and powerful performance.
Positioned to compete with market leaders such as the Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and MG's recently released Majestor.
With the official debut of the Tayron R-Line in India, Volkswagen has entered the luxury three-row SUV market with an ex-showroom starting price of ₹46.99 lakh.
Constructed locally at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant using Volkswagen's MQB EVO platform, the Tayron reintroduces a three-row SUV to the brand's Indian range while offering size and sophistication.
Bold Style Blends with Roomy Interiors
The design of the Tayron R-Line combines sporty elements with European elegance. Sleek LED matrix headlights, a connected LED tail lamp, and an illuminated Volkswagen logo are all included on its exterior, which is supported by 19-inch alloy wheels.
The SUV has a luxurious interior with a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a big 15-inch touchscreen, and three-zone climate control. Electrically adjustable front seats with massage and ventilation features increase comfort.
The Tayron strikes a mix between passenger capacity and baggage practicality with its seven-seat configuration and foldable third row, making it perfect for lengthy trips and families.
Good Performance and Cutting-Edge Safety
A 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine with 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque powers the Tayron R-Line. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic and Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
With a top speed of roughly 224 km/h and a sprint time of 7.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, it provides quick performance for its size.
Features include a 360-degree camera, stability control, nine airbags, hill-descent and ascent assistance, and Level-2 ADAS technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and automated emergency braking, all of which emphasize safety.
Entering the Premium SUV Market
In the large SUV market, Volkswagen is aiming its launch at well-established rivals. The Tayron R-Line, which offers a premium combination of performance, comfort, and technology, will compete with well-known vehicles like the new MG Majestor, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Toyota Fortuner.
Volkswagen's goal is to increase its market share in India's upscale SUV sector by introducing a car that combines German engineering and family-friendly adaptability.
