All You Need to Know about the Skoda Kylaq, Waiting Period, New Variants & What's Coming Next

The Skoda Kylaq has crossed the 50,000-unit production milestone and demand isn't letting up; waiting periods now stretch to six weeks. But Skoda isn't standing still. From the newly introduced Classic+ and Prestige+ variants to a price revision and a sporty Sportline edition on the horizon, the Czech carmaker is doubling down on its most affordable SUV. Here's a full breakdown of where the Kylaq stands in 2026.

  • The Skoda Kylaq currently has a waiting period of up to six weeks, varying by variant, colour, and location, a sign of just how popular this compact SUV has become in India.

  • Skoda has expanded the Kylaq's line-up to six variants across 11 price points in 2026, adding the Classic+ and Prestige+ trims, with a Sportline edition expected around the festive season.

As of February 2026, the Kylaq has a waiting period of up to six weeks, depending on your chosen variant and colour. The figure is specific to the Mumbai region, and actual waiting times may vary across other cities. It's a small price to pay, quite literally, for one of the most talked-about compact SUVs in its segment right now.

50,000 Units and Counting, A Milestone That Means Business

The Kylaq has been nothing short of a runaway success for Skoda Auto India. With over 50,000 units sold since its launch, the Kylaq has been a major contributor to Skoda Auto India's best-ever sales performance in the brand's 25th year in the country. That's a remarkable achievement for a carmaker that, until the Kylaq's arrival, had no presence in the cut-throat sub-four-metre SUV space.

To support the growing demand for the Kylaq, Skoda increased production capacity at its Chakan facility by 30 per cent, and strengthened engagement with domestic suppliers to achieve higher levels of localization. It's a clear signal that Skoda is serious about this segment and isn't treating the Kylaq as a one-hit wonder.

The 2026 Kylaq Line-Up Explained

New Variants to Bridge the Gaps

One of the most significant moves Skoda made with the Kylaq in 2026 was rethinking its variant structure. The Kylaq, from a lineup of four variants and seven price points, expands to six variants and 11 price points in 2026. The two newcomers are the Classic+ and the Prestige+, sitting at opposite ends of the mid-range spectrum.

The Classic+ offers features like an electric sunroof, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights and taillights, and a multi-function steering wheel, all at a price that keeps it accessible.

Meanwhile, the range-topping Prestige+ is priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most feature-rich Kylaq money can currently buy. The Classic+ starts at Rs. 8.25 lakh, which puts it firmly in value-for-money territory.

A Price Hike Worth Noting

It hasn't all been good news for prospective buyers, however. Skoda recently revised the prices of the Kylaq by up to Rs. 33,000 on select variants. While that's not an enormous sum in the grand scheme of things, it's worth factoring into your budget, especially if you've been comparing brochure prices from late 2025.

What's Coming Next, The Sportline Edition

For those who want their Kylaq with a side of attitude, there's something exciting on the horizon. Skoda confirmed a top-of-the-line Sportline variant for the 2026 Kylaq, likely to launch around mid-2026, and described it as sharper and sportier than the existing variants.

Think blacked-out elements, a more aggressive aesthetic, and possibly some added equipment to justify the premium.

Anniversary Offers, Limited Window to Save

To mark the Kylaq's first anniversary, Skoda announced limited-period offers on select variants with benefits of up to ₹50,000, along with a 50% discount on the one-year Skoda Maintenance Package. These offers were valid until February 28, 2026, so if you're reading this in time, it might be worth acting swiftly.

The Bottom Line

The Skoda Kylaq has firmly established itself as a credible, desirable choice in one of India's most competitive segments. A six-week wait is hardly a dealbreaker, and with a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, a refined 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and now a broader variant spread, there's little reason to look elsewhere if European build quality and driving dynamics matter to you.
