JSW MG Motor India Gets Ready to Introduce the New Majestor Flagship SUV, Discontinuing MG Gloster

To create space for its next flagship SUV, the Majestor, JSW MG Motor India is discontinuing the MG Gloster. The new model represents a significant change in the company's premium SUV strategy and promises a more contemporary look, enhanced technology, and greater off-road prowess. In India's cutthroat full-size SUV market, the Majestor, which is anticipated to debut in April 2026, intends to compete with products from top manufacturers like Toyota, Skoda, and Isuzu.

  • The long-running MG Gloster SUV will be phased out by JSW MG Motor India.

  • With improved features and a greater emphasis on off-roading, the new MG Majestor will replace it as the brand's premier full-size SUV.

According to reports, JSW MG Motor India is discontinuing the MG Gloster, which was their flagship big SUV. The Gloster's sales have declined recently, despite its initial positive reception for providing a wealth of amenities and good value in the premium SUV market.

MG is currently getting ready to replace it with a more contemporary model. As the new MG Majestor takes centre stage, the Gloster is destined to leave the lineup completely rather than merely sit beneath a new model in the range.

Presenting the New Flagship MG Majestor

The MG Majestor was just unveiled and is expected to become MG's new flagship vehicle in India. It was characterized as a modern and more competent SUV. The Majestor, which is based on the Gloster's basis but has been updated in almost every aspect, has a more eye-catching exterior with a revamped front and rear, a contemporary interior with upgraded equipment, and a more powerful overall presence on the road.

Although the SUV's well-known 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine still powers it, MG has improved its off-road capabilities. Three locking differentials, terrain management settings, and low-range gearing are reportedly among the Majestor's cutting-edge features, which set it apart in this market, especially for daring buyers looking for both comfort and capability.

What This Indicates for the Market and Buyers

Reservations for the Majestor are now available in India, with prices starting at a nominal sum. The complete launch is anticipated to take place in April 2026, with deliveries beginning in May 2026.

More information will be available closer to the debut, but it is expected that the Majestor will be priced higher than the departing Gloster, putting it squarely in line with rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Isuzu MU-X.

This move is a big step for MG since it wants to establish itself in the high-end three-row SUV market by providing a more modern and functional vehicle. Although the Gloster will be known for upending the large SUV market in India, the Majestor is well-positioned to continue the brand's growth with improved features, performance, and design.

What JSW MG Will Do Next in India

In addition to the Majestor, JSW MG Motor India has announced intentions to add a number of new models to its inventory in the upcoming year, including hybrid and electric models. The company's goal to expand its market reach and provide a range of options across various categories is reflected in this more comprehensive approach.
