Tata Punch EV Facelift: Complete Disclosure of Battery Packs, Range, and Charging Technology

With two new battery options, increased range, and significantly faster charging speeds, the updated Tata Punch EV makeover significantly improves its electric drivetrain. With the addition of 65 kW fast charging, improved e-drive calibration, and an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, the small electric SUV is now much more adaptable for short highway journeys as well as city use. With these enhancements, the revised Punch EV is positioned as a more robust and useful option for India's expanding EV market.

  • Fresh information on the Tata Punch EV's driving range and available battery packs.

  • Important technological improvements, such as improved EV technology, performance metrics, and charging speeds.

To accommodate varying driving needs, the 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift will come with two battery options. At the upper end of the range, the offering section is a larger 40 kWh battery, while the first is a 30 kWh pack.

The larger 40 kWh unit has an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, according to official specs. Tata says this is more than enough for daily commuting and short interstate trips. Meanwhile, a good range suitable for urban use is supported by the smaller pack.

The Punch EV facelift is a formidable competitor in its class thanks to these numbers, which show a discernible improvement over many previous entry-level EVs.

Smarter Battery Technology and Quicker Charging

The facelift's charging capabilities are among its most notable improvements. With the addition of 65 kW DC fast charging, the Punch EV's battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes.

Additionally, according to Tata, a 15-minute top-up can increase the car's range by almost 135 kilometres, making it more practical for short stops and city chores. As EV use increases in cities and on weekends, such rapid charging numbers are becoming more and more significant.

In an effort to increase consumer trust in EV ownership and long-term endurance, the battery packs, which feature prismatic LFP cells, are covered by a lifetime, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Additionally, Tata has improved the vehicle's e-drive calibration, which boosts responsiveness and economy.

Keeping Up with the Times

For its class, the upgraded Punch EV's performance figures are outstanding. The SUV's electric drivetrain and various drive modes enable it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than nine seconds. Paddle shifters allow drivers to select the additional regen braking levels, which improve the driving experience and energy recovery.

Tata is committed to making the Punch EV adaptable for both urban and light rural use, as seen by the fact that it maintains its strong practical qualities like decent ground clearance and water-wading capacity in addition to these technological advancements.

By offering a better range, quicker charging, and a more upscale driving experience that meets daily demands, the Tata Punch EV makeover increases its attractiveness in India's expanding compact electric SUV market.
