The Tata Punch EV Facelift Introduced in India, With New Features and a Larger Battery

A number of improvements aimed at improving range, performance, and daily usability have been included in the updated Tata Punch EV facelift, which Tata Motors has formally introduced in India. With its new 40kWh long-range battery that can go up to 468 kilometres on a single charge, as well as its upgraded features, appearance, and flexible Battery-as-a-Service option, the revised Punch EV seeks to increase the appeal and accessibility of electric transportation. Prices now start at ₹9.69 lakh, solidifying its place in the market for small electric SUVs.

  • How the price, new ownership options, and improvements of the electric Punch are being made more affordable by Tata Motors.

The first major update since the model's debut was the updated Punch EV facelift, which Tata Motors formally unveiled in India on February 20, 2026. To appeal to a broader range of consumers, the redesigned electric SUV includes improved technology features, a more competitive pricing structure, better styling, and the option of larger batteries.

Powertrain, Battery, and Range Improvements

In addition to the current 30 kWh option, the 40 kWh battery pack is the main component of the facelift. With an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km on a single charge, the bigger battery has a real-world range of 355 km under typical driving circumstances. Still available is the smaller 30 kWh pack, which offers a good range for daily commuting.

In just 26 minutes, both battery options can be charged from 20% to 80% thanks to 65 kW DC rapid charging, which is combined with a front-mounted electric motor. In favourable circumstances, a brief 15-minute fast-charge session can increase range to 135 kilometres.

New Interior Features and Design

The Punch EV has had a visual makeover, with a new body cladding, updated LED tail lights, a revamped front fascia, and a new colour scheme that offers eye-catching choices, including Supernova Copper and Fearless Yellow.

With a dual-tone motif, better seating, automated climate control, and ventilated front seats, the inside has been thoughtfully upgraded.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, several drive modes, regenerative brake settings, and standard safety features like six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist are examples of modern infotainment touches.

Cost, Variants, and Adaptable Ownership

The entry-level Smart MR costs ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-trim Empowered+ S LR costs ₹12.59 lakh. The Punch EV facelift is available in a number of variations.

The vehicle may be purchased for ₹6.49 lakh with a separate battery subscription fee levied per kilometre under Tata Motors' Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, which further reduces the upfront cost. A wider spectrum of purchasers can now afford the Punch EV thanks to its flexible financing options.
