ChargeZone and Volvo Car India Open a 360 kW Ultra-Fast EV Charging Station on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway

On the congested Mumbai–Nashik Highway, Volvo Car India and ChargeZone have opened a potent 360 kW ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station. The new installation, which is close to Igatpuri, has dedicated bays, faster charging, and cutting-edge technologies like dynamic load balancing, all of which greatly enhance long-distance EV travel. This hub, which is the first co-branded station under their statewide development plan, is a significant milestone in creating a high-speed EV charging network that is more dependable and easily accessible throughout India.

  • Near Igatpuri, a 300 kW high-speed charging station was inaugurated.

  • A larger proposal to establish a high-end EV charging network throughout India includes this partnership as the first co-branded hub.

At Food Hills near Igatpuri on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway, Volvo Car India and EV infrastructure expert ChargeZone have opened a cutting-edge 360 kW ultra-fast charging station. The hub, which is tucked away along one of Maharashtra's busiest intercity roads, is intended to increase the dependability and efficiency of long-distance electric motors.

The Charging Hub's Unique Features

The recently opened charging station has two dynamic load-balancing dispensers and a potent 360 kW Star Charge unit. By ensuring that available power is evenly distributed among vehicles, this clever configuration helps to minimize waiting times and maximize actual charging speed. It has digital payment capabilities and app-based navigation for user convenience, and it is designed to work with a range of EVs, not only the Volvo model.

An important benefit of EVs for intercity travel is their ability to recharge rapidly and without severe delays, thanks to their strategic placement along the Mumbai–Nashik route. Along with other charging bays that are available to all suitable electric vehicles, the installation has specific bays for Volvo EVs.

Collaboration for an Expanded Network of Charging

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2025 between Volvo Car India and ChargeZone to extend high-speed charging infrastructure along India's national roads, and this hub is the first co-branded installation under that agreement.

Representatives from both organizations emphasize that this project demonstrates their dedication to improved EV support and sustainable mobility.

The partnership, according to Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, is a step toward providing a top-notch charging network catered to the requirements of contemporary electric travelers.

Kartikey Hariyani, the founder and CEO of ChargeZone, reiterated this opinion by highlighting how features like dynamic power management will improve the speed, predictability, and usability of long-distance electric vehicle travel.

What Happens Next

As part of their joint vision, Volvo Car India and ChargeZone want to install more high-speed charging stations along other important thoroughfares by 2026. In the years to come, ChargeZone, which already runs thousands of charging stations across the country, hopes to greatly expand its reach.

One of the main obstacles to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in India is being addressed by this strategic expansion, which supports a larger initiative to strengthen public EV charging infrastructure.
