- New Countryman C to launch in India on June 17, 2026 with local assembly in Chennai.
- The premium SUV is expected to offer a more accessible alternative to the Countryman JCW All4.
Mini has confirmed that the 2026 Countryman C will make its India debut on June 17, 2026. The new variant will join the brand’s premium SUV range as a more accessible offering positioned below the performance-oriented Countryman JCW All4.
Pre-bookings for the model are already underway ahead of its market arrival.
Local Assembly Expected to Improve Accessibility
The upcoming Countryman C will be assembled at the BMW Group’s manufacturing facility in Chennai. Local assembly is expected to help Mini position the SUV more competitively in India while broadening the appeal of the Countryman range to a wider set of buyers.
Once launched, the SUV will sit beneath the JCW All4 in the line-up, giving customers a lower-priced alternative without moving away from the brand’s signature design and premium character.
Turbo-Petrol Engine Paired With Dual-Clutch Transmission
Power for the new Countryman C will come from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol direct-injection engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. While official output figures have not yet been announced, the powertrain is expected to be based on the three-cylinder unit used in the BMW X1.
In the X1, this engine develops 136hp and 230Nm of torque. Final specifications for the India-spec Countryman C will be revealed closer to launch.
Exterior Design Retains Familiar Countryman Identity
The Countryman C will share much of its styling with the Countryman Electric while featuring subtle visual differences. These include revised front-end detailing, along with specific bumper and grille treatments.
Mini will offer the SUV in five exterior colours comprising Chilli Red, British Racing Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue and Smokey Green.
Other highlights include body-coloured door handles, black mirror housings, black roof and pillars, champagne-coloured exterior accents, alloy wheels and matrix LED tail-lamps.
Cabin Expected to Feature Premium Technology
Inside, the Countryman C is expected to adopt the design language seen in Mini’s latest generation models. The cabin is likely to feature a dual-tone theme with champagne-coloured trim elements.
Expected equipment includes Mini’s signature circular touchscreen, a premium audio system, paddle shifters and a head-up display. These features are intended to reinforce the SUV’s premium positioning within the segment.
Expected Positioning and Rivals
Mini has indicated that the Countryman C will be priced below the range-topping JCW All4, which currently carries an ex-showroom price of ₹64.9 lakh. The new model will compete in the luxury compact SUV segment against rivals such as the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
