The Nexon EV 45 portfolio starts at ₹13.99 lakh for the entry-level Creative variant, while the mid-range Fearless variant is priced at ₹14.99 lakh. The Empowered variant follows at ₹15.99 lakh, and the fully-loaded Empowered Plus variant tops the lineup at ₹16.99 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
Despite the higher price tag, with the top-spec Nexon EV 45 costing ₹70,000 more than the Nexon EV Empowered Plus LR with the 40.5kWh battery, buyers will benefit from a larger battery pack and additional features.
Tata claims the new model offers a modified ARAI test cycle range of 489 km, while the expected real-world range is around 350-370 km. The Empowered Plus trim also boasts a panoramic sunroof and a 12-liter 'frunk,' enhancing its appeal.
The Nexon EV 45 utilizes the same LFP prismatic cells as seen in the recently launched Curvv EV, allowing for increased volumetric and energy density. This innovation leads to a higher 1.2C charge rate, enabling fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes when connected to a 60kW DC fast charger.
Battery and Motor
The Nexon EV 45 is powered by the same permanent magnet motor as the regular Nexon EV, but with a slight boost in peak power to 147.5 bhp. It's worth noting that the new model is approximately 50 kg heavier than the standard Nexon EV, primarily due to the additional weight of the battery pack and new features. While the standard Nexon EV comes with a 40.5 kWh battery pack, the Nexon EV 45 showcases a more robust 45 kWh battery pack, further enhancing its performance and range.
