Volvo India: Price Shifts increases for Conventional Models

Volvo India

Volvo Cars India has recently implemented price increases on selected car models effective from January 1, 2024. These price adjustments solely affect vehicles running on traditional fuel, commonly known as internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, while the prices for their electric cars remain unaffected.

The decision to raise prices was attributed to several factors explained by the automaker. They cited a steady rise in production costs, including expenses related to various parts and materials used in manufacturing. Furthermore, fluctuating exchange rates between currencies have contributed to increased expenses in importing specific components required for ICE vehicles.

The price increments impact models such as the XC60, which has seen a price rise of Rs. 1,05,000, and the XC90, now costing Rs. 2,04,900 more. While these hikes may seem substantial, they reflect the heightened costs faced by the company in producing these vehicles.

It's crucial to note that Volvo Cars India offers a diverse range of cars in the country. Their lineup includes two electric models, the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge, which maintain their previous prices despite the recent adjustments. Alongside these electric vehicles, the company also sells the ICE-powered XC60 and XC90 SUVs, which have experienced price increases.

The updated ex-showroom prices for

Volvo's models are as follows:

  • C40 Recharge: Rs. 62,95,000

  • XC40 Recharge: Rs. 57,90,000

  • XC60: Rs. 68,90,000

  • XC90: Rs. 1,00,89,900

Consequently, prices for the electric C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge models remain unchanged, while ICE vehicles like the XC60 and XC90 have witnessed price adjustments.

Volvo's strategic focus on electric vehicles has led to price consistency for these models, showcasing their commitment to ensuring these environmentally friendly options remain accessible to buyers, despite market fluctuations affecting traditional fuel vehicle prices.

In conclusion, Volvo Cars India raised prices for their conventional fuel-powered cars due to increased production costs and currency fluctuations. However, they maintained the prices of their electric models, underscoring their dedication to offering affordable eco-friendly options amidst market changes.
