Volvo has revealed the all-electric EX60 mid-size SUV, claiming up to 810 km of WLTP range and supporting 400 kW ultra-fast charging.
Built on Volvo’s new SPA3 electric platform, the EX60 combines next-generation battery technology with Google Gemini AI integration and advanced safety systems.
Volvo Cars has officially revealed the EX60, its latest all-electric mid-size SUV designed to push the boundaries of range, charging performance and in-car technology. Unveiled as part of Volvo’s next chapter in electrification, the EX60 is the first production vehicle built on the dedicated Scalable Product Architecture 3 (SPA3) platform, underpinning future Volvo electric models.
Electrification with Exceptional Range
At the heart of the EX60’s appeal is its class-leading driving range. The top-spec P12 AWD Electric variant, equipped with a 117 kWh battery pack and dual motors, delivers a claimed WLTP range of up to 810 km — one of the longest figures in the current electric SUV segment.
In addition to the top-end model, Volvo’s line-up includes other powertrain options: the P10 AWD Electric with a 95 kWh pack and a P6 RWD Electric with an 83 kWh battery, which offer respective ranges suited to diverse driving needs. These variants aim to balance performance and efficiency for both urban and long-distance use.
Design: Elegance Meets Aerodynamics
Built on Volvo’s new SPA3 platform, the EX60 uses lightweight construction and cell-to-body battery integration to improve efficiency and reduce overall weight. Google Gemini AI is integrated from launch, enabling more natural voice interaction, while Volvo’s system manages vehicle software and connectivity.
On the outside, a closed grille, slim LED lighting and a tapered roofline highlight its aerodynamic focus, complemented by flush door handles and large alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features a 15-inch central touchscreen, an 11.4-inch digital driver display, sustainable materials and a strong emphasis on comfort.
Safety and Market Impact
True to Volvo's heritage, safety remains the cornerstone. The EX60 is equipped with a 360-degree view of the vehicle's surroundings. This hardware, combined with advanced software, makes the EX60 "hardware-ready" for unsupervised autonomous driving in the future.
What This Means for the EV Market
The EX60 sets a new benchmark for Volvo’s EV ambitions, combining exceptional range, next-generation charging speeds and intelligent assistance features. With rivals in the mid-size EV space pushing similar capabilities, the EX60’s long range and advanced platform could make it a compelling choice for drivers seeking a premium electric family SUV that does not compromise on everyday usability or long-distance comfort.
