JSW-MG Motor India has officially locked in February 12, 2026, for the launch of its new flagship SUV, the Majestor.
Positioned above the Gloster, the three-row Majestor is expected to raise the bar for MG’s presence in the premium ladder-frame SUV space.
First showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, it is aimed at buyers seeking a larger, more upmarket alternative within the full-size SUV category. The Majestor is expected to focus on long-distance comfort, strong road presence, and modern safety and connectivity features.
A Bold New Entry Above the Gloster
The Majestor is essentially MG’s take on the globally sold Maxus D90 platform, reworked with bespoke styling and features to suit the tastes of Indian SUV buyers. Visually, it adopts a commanding presence with a large, bold grille, stacked LED headlamps, slim LED daytime running lights, and rugged body cladding that emphasises its muscular stance.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the bonnet, the Majestor is expected to retain the proven 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine familiar to the Gloster. In its top-tier twin-turbo avatar, the engine is expected to deliver around 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. This unit should deliver robust performance suited to heavy-duty use, with power and torque figures that promise confident on-road and off-road capability. All-wheel drive is likely to be offered on higher variants, alongside two-wheel-drive options.
Interior: A Sanctuary of High-Tech Luxury
Stepping inside, the Majestor is expected to set a new benchmark for MG's cabin quality. Rumours and spy shots suggest a futuristic dashboard layout featuring a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen and a matching digital driver’s display.
The focus here is clearly on 'business-class' comfort. Potential owners can expect:
Three-row seating with six and seven-seat configurations.
Premium cabin materials, including soft-touch surfaces and leatherette upholstery.
Features such as a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats with massage functions.
The MG Majestor is anticipated to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it firmly in the premium end of the segment. At this price point, it will take on established rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian, all of which enjoy strong brand recognition and loyal buyer bases.
As the countdown to February 12, 2026, begins, the Majestor will be closely watched by both enthusiasts and prospective buyers to see how it stacks up against some of the most established names in the segment.
