Volkswagen Virtus Sells The Most Units In March 2024 In The Sedan Segment

Volkswagen Virtus Sells the Most Units in March 2024 in the Sedan Segment

In March 2024, the compact sedan segment concluded the fiscal year on a high note with promising sales figures. The Volkswagen Virtus took the lead in sales, closely followed by the Hyundai Verna. Most compact sedans, apart from the Honda City, showcased positive growth in sales last month.

Here's a comprehensive look at the performance of each sedan in the March 2024 sales:

Volkswagen Virtus:

Volkswagen Virtus sold over 1,800 units. The Volkswagen Virtus emerged as the best-selling compact sedan in March 2024. It witnessed a significant monthly sales growth of over 13% and commanded a market share of nearly 28% in the segment.

Hyundai Verna:

The Hyundai Verna came in a close second, falling short of surpassing the Virtus by only 131 units. Despite consistent month-on-month sales of over 1,700 units, its year-on-year market share experienced a decline of over 11%.

Skoda Slavia:

Skoda's compact sedan, the Slavia, attracted more than 1,300 buyers in March 2024. It registered an impressive 32% growth in month-on-month sales. However, its sales were still below the average for the last six months.

Honda City:

The Honda City saw a slight decline in monthly sales, crossing the 1,000-unit mark. Despite this dip, its year-on-year market share decreased by almost 10%. The drop in output could be attributed to variant-wise feature changes announced in April 2024.

Maruti Ciaz:

Despite being considered a dated model in the segment, the Maruti Ciaz saw an increase in monthly sales. It attracted less than 600 buyers in March 2024.

Overall, the compact sedan segment exhibited resilience and positive growth in sales in March 2024, setting a promising tone for the upcoming fiscal year.
