Tata Curvv Hits The Indian Road Again For Testing Unlocking New Features

Tata Curvv hits the Indian Road again for testing unlocking new features

Will the all-new Tata Curvv be a real game changer? Tata Motors is betting high on its upcoming Curvv which is scheduled to launch in late 2024, with an electric version debuting first. The Curvv is expected to be a head-turner, with a unique design and a range of features that set it apart from other SUVs in the market. The model was recently spied on during a test drive next to its sibling, the Nexon. The Nexon provided a decent impression of the Tata Curvv's dimensions, size, and road presence despite being a pre-facelifted vehicle. Comparing the forthcoming coupe to the Nexon, it appears broader and has a more commanding stance.

Design and Dimensions

The Tata Curvv is 4,308mm long, 1,810mm wide, and 1,630mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,560m]. It is wider and has a more imposing stance compared to the Nexon, with design highlights such as a full-width light bar up front, split LED headlamps, redesigned grille, and bumper, sloping roofline, flush-fitting door handles, connected LED taillights, a shark fin antenna.

Features

The Tata Curvv will feature a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, a twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, touch-based HVAC controls, auto-dimming IRVM, and purple accents on the dashboard. It will also offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as blind spot assist, which will work in tandem with the full ADAS suite.

Powertrain

The diesel drivetrain of the Tata Curvv is borrowed from the Tata Nexon, while the carmaker's new 1.2-liter T-GDi (turbo-petrol) engine will make its premiere in the vehicle. The production-spec SUV's specifications, albeit unverified. The Tata Curvv will also be available in an all-electric variant called the Curvv EV, which is expected to have a 500 km driving range. It could be priced from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. It will take on the likes of compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. The Curvv will also be a rival to the recently unveiled Citroen Basalt Vision.
