Toyota Kirloskar Motor has begun delivering the Urban Cruiser Ebella to customers nationwide, starting with the top-spec E3 variant priced from Rs. 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ebella is currently offered only with the larger 61kWh battery pack, with the entry-level 49kWh version yet to go on sale.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has wasted no time getting the Urban Cruiser Ebella into the hands of buyers. Customer deliveries have commenced across the country, even as the manufacturer is yet to announce variant-wise pricing for the full range.
The company had previously confirmed three variants for the Ebella, named E1, E2, and E3, though only the range-topping E3 is available for delivery at this stage.
The E3 is priced at Rs. 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom) for the mono-tone finish and Rs. 23.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the dual-tone option. Buyers looking at the more accessible E1 and E2 trims will need to wait for TKM to release those prices before placing their orders.
What the Top-Spec E3 Brings to the Table
The E3 variant of the Urban Cruiser Ebella is well-equipped for its price point. Up front, the cabin is anchored by dual 10-inch screens on the dashboard, covering both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system.
A panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting add a premium feel to the package, while the front seats get both electric adjustment and ventilation - a welcome touch for Indian summers.
Comfort and Convenience Features
Practicality has not been overlooked either. The Ebella E3 gets a floating centre console, wireless mobile charger, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
On the outside, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and taillights, and a dual-tone upholstery theme round off the styling. A tilt and telescopic-adjustable steering column and an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) are also part of the standard fitment.
Battery, Range and the Powertrain Setup
For now, the Urban Cruiser Ebella is on sale exclusively with its larger 61kWh battery pack. This unit puts out 172bhp and 193Nm of torque, with Toyota claiming a range of 543km on a single charge.
The smaller 49kWh battery option, which will likely be offered on the lower variants, is yet to be made available.
Who Does the Ebella Compete With?
In the increasingly crowded electric SUV space in India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella takes on a formidable set of rivals. Its direct competition includes the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Harrier EV, MG Windsor EV, and the Vinfast VF6.
Given that the Ebella shares its platform with the Maruti e Vitara, it makes for a particularly interesting comparison within that specific pairing.
With deliveries now underway and two more variants in the pipeline, TKM's electric SUV push looks set to gather real momentum in the months ahead.
