Renault India has big plans to enhance their product portfolio The big two in Renault India's SKU model plans for the next two years include the new Kiger SUV and the Triber MPV for 2025 The hopes for the new Duster in 2026.
Renault India’s MD and CEO Venkatram Mamillapalle announced new car launches, signalling that Renault, the company, had woken up after some time with fewer vehicle launches.
Facelifted Kiger and Triber: What to Expect
The Kiger and Triber will also be massive facelifts with both set to get updated to Renault’s new design language. Specifically, the Kiger look will depart from the Kwid-like and decidedly more modern and upmarket. In the event, Renault is likely to unveil new models, along with the new logo that is being planned for the Renault brand in India.
Facelifts in the interiors of both models will also be apparent; new colors, softer to the touch plastics, and new-looking dashboards. These updates are prompted by the latest version of the Nissan Magnite, which rivals Honda in the market that offers compact SUV models.
As for mechanics, there should be no changes, while the Kiger will remain available with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (NA) and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Likewise, the factories are expected to continue using the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in Triber.
However, these changes have not helped Kiger & Triber much as both models sell far less than 1,000 and 1,500 units on average per month in 2024 respectively.
Duster Makes a Comeback in 2026
Renault has also assured the market that one of its bestselling models is returning in 2026 with the Duster. The third generation of Duster will be a qualitative leap forward, as the car will be built on an expressive platform and has a conceptual similarity to what is popular in today’s SUV segment. The new Duster is expected to start rolling out by September 2025 with regular models to be available in early 2026.
This time around, the Duster will also be in four variants, with the addition of Bigster, a three-row SUV that will appeal to families and adventurers. Also, the Nissan brand will build derivatives from the Duster and Bigster so that these two brands have distinct personalities. All these SUVs will be produced in the Renault-Nissan company's plant in Chennai for the Indian market and for exportation.
Renault’s Expanding Market Strategy
Currently, Renault is pretty much dependent on models like the Kiger and Triber exclusive to the Indian market, and the re-entry of the Duster is expected to bring much-needed magic to the brand.
Apart from the network of dealerships and sales to 14 countries, Renault’s future products are sure to provide it with a winning formula to regain a foothold in the highly contested Indian auto sector.
With better focality, thoroughly refined models, modern amenities, and a tailored release timeline, Renault has grand plans to turn into a serious contender in the Indian Automotive market again.
