Renault Triber

Renault is a French car maker that offers a few select cars in India, including an MUV/MPV. Multi Utility Vehicles or MUV cars are spacious and versatile cars that can accommodate multiple passengers and a considerable amount of luggage.

They are ideal for large families, long trips and commercial purposes. Renault’s only MUV car in India is the Renault Triber, which is a compact and affordable MUV car.

However, Renault is planning to launch a turbocharged version of the Triber — Renault Triber Turbo in future, which may improve its performance and refinement. Here we will discuss the features, specifications, prices and reviews of Renault MUV cars in India.

Renault Triber Turbo

## Renault Triber Turbo.webp

For customers who need an MUV with more power and refinement, Renault is planning to launch a turbocharged version of the Triber soon. The Renault Triber Turbo will be based on the same platform and design as the regular Triber but with some cosmetic and mechanical changes.

What to Expect?

The most significant change will be the addition of a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is the same unit used in the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger compact SUVs.

This engine will produce 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque, which is a significant improvement over the current engine. The Triber Turbo will also offer better acceleration, drivability and fuel efficiency.

The Triber Turbo will have two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT option will provide a smooth and convenient driving experience, especially in city traffic.

The Triber Turbo will also get some new features such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control System (TCS) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which are now standard across the Triber range.

Some of the key features and specifications of the Renault Triber Turbo are:

  • Price: The Triber Turbo is expected to be launched in 2023/2024, with a price range of Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.

  • Mileage: The Triber Turbo is likely to have a fuel efficiency of around 18 kmpl for the manual variants and 16 kmpl for the CVT variants.

  • Dimensions: The Triber Turbo will have the same dimensions as the regular Triber, with a length of 3990 mm, a width of 1739 mm, a height of 1643 mm and a wheelbase of 2636 mm. It will have a ground clearance of 182 mm and a boot space of 84 litres (expandable to 625 litres).

  • Safety: The Triber Turbo will come with four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rearview camera, speed alert system, seat belt reminder and anti-theft immobiliser as standard safety features. It will also get ESP, HSA, TCS and TPMS for enhanced stability and control.

  • Comfort and Convenience: The Triber Turbo will offer features like power windows, power steering, power adjustable ORVMs, central locking, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, tilt adjustable steering wheel, steering mounted controls, digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charger, cooled glove box and sunroof.

  • Design and Style: The Triber Turbo will have a chrome garnished front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, body side cladding, roof rails, alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and dual-tone colour options to give it a stylish and sporty look. It may also get some subtle changes such as new badges or stickers to differentiate it from the regular model.

How Renault MUV Compares with Its Competitors

The Renault Triber faces stiff competition from other MUV cars in India, such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Toyota Innova Crysta, and the Mahindra XUV300. These cars offer different features, specifications and prices, which make them appealing to different segments of customers.

  • The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a popular MUV car that offers a reliable and economical option for families in India. It has a more powerful engine, better mileage and a wider service network than the Renault Triber. However, it is more expensive, less spacious and less feature-rich than the Renault Triber.

  • The Toyota Innova Crysta is a premium MUV car that offers a comfortable and durable option for families in India. It has a higher quality, more safety features and a higher resale value than the Renault Triber. However, it is much more expensive, less fuel-efficient and bigger than the Renault Triber.

  • The Mahindra XUV300 is a sub-4-metre MUV car that offers a sporty and stylish option for families in India. It has a turbocharged engine, better performance and more safety features than the Renault Triber. However, it is more expensive, less spacious and has a lower seating capacity than the Renault Triber.

Therefore, the Renault Triber compares well with its competitors, as it offers a unique combination of space, versatility, features, and affordability. It is one of the best MUV cars in India for customers who want a spacious car that can accommodate their family and luggage without compromising on comfort and convenience.

Final Thoughts
