The Nissan Magnite will get its first genuine midlife makeover this year with the first batch of spy photos of a test mule posted online. Given that the Magnite is scheduled to finish its four-year tenure in India by December 2024, the update appears to be adhering to a realistic schedule for the SUV.
The sub-4-meter SUV market is growing more and more popular every day. Skoda is attempting to enter this competitive field, and the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet have recently received facelifts. As we previously disclosed, Nissan is already preparing an update for the Magnite, which may make its Indian debut later this year.
Spy shots Details:
Even though the test mule is completely hidden, the vehicle has been seen with brand-new alloy wheels. Although the general silhouette is unaltered, the bumpers could be modified to maintain a modern appearance. Nissan might also add updated taillights and headlamps to the mix.
With features like an electric sunroof, ventilated seats, and auto-dimming IRVM, the Magnite facelift is also expected to be feature-rich, potentially giving it an advantage over competitors. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 72-hp and 100-hp turbo-petrol engine options will remain available.
Expected Additional features:
It is logical to expect that to compete in the sub-4 million SUV sector, it will have new seat upholstery in addition to some additional features. This might also include ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a sunroof. Features like the 7-inch digital driver display, 8-inch touchscreen, and optional wireless phone charging could be added later.
The safety net of the 2024 Magnite may be upgraded to include six airbags in addition to the 360-degree camera, TPMS, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages that are now included.
Pricing, competitors, and release
Along with its cousin, the Renault Kiger, the Nissan Magnite is among the least expensive SUVs available in India, starting at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). One of the Magnite's primary differentiators has always been its affordability, and this revamp should help it hold onto that distinction. It will still face competition from smaller SUVs like the Maruti Fronx, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter, as well as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300.
Although Nissan has not yet confirmed any information on the Magnite facelift's release, the prototype raises the possibility that the SUV is nearing completion.
