Nissan India has partnered with Avis India to offer corporate leasing on both the Gravite and the Magnite, with monthly rentals starting at Rs 9,399 (excluding taxes).
The lease tenure extends up to 60 months and 50,000km, with Avis India handling procurement, registration, maintenance, insurance, and end-of-term services.
Buying a car outright is not always the most practical choice, particularly for corporate customers who value flexibility and predictability in their expenditure.
Nissan India seems to have taken note of this. The Japanese carmaker has announced a corporate leasing programme in collaboration with Avis India, a chauffeur-driven car rental company, making both of its current models in the country available through this route.
What the Programme Covers and How It Works
Both the Nissan Gravite and the Nissan Magnite are available to lease under this programme. The lease tenure extends up to 60 months and 50,000km of usage, with rental fees starting at Rs 9,399 per month, excluding taxes, depending on the variant selected.
The structure of the partnership is fairly straightforward. Nissan handles the distribution side of things, while Avis India steps in to manage everything else. This includes vehicle procurement, registration, maintenance, insurance, and end-of-term services.
In other words, the customer essentially deals with one point of contact for the full duration of the lease, which takes a fair bit of the administrative burden off their plate.
Why This Move Makes Sense for Nissan India
Nissan's current India line-up is a focused one, with just two models on offer. The Magnite, a sub-four-metre SUV, has been a consistent performer in its segment since its launch, while the Gravite is the newer addition to the fold.
Introducing a leasing option for both models is a sensible way to broaden their appeal, particularly among corporate buyers who might otherwise overlook them in favour of better-known alternatives.
Competitive Starting Prices in the Context of Monthly Outlays
With rentals beginning at under Rs 10,000 per month before taxes, the programme positions the Nissan duo as accessible options in the corporate leasing space. The fact that maintenance and insurance are also taken care of as part of the arrangement means the actual cost of running the vehicle is largely predictable from month to month, which is exactly what most fleet managers look for.
The Bigger Picture for Corporate Car Leasing in India
Leasing is gradually finding its footing in the Indian market, moving beyond just premium segments to reach more mainstream buyers.
Nissan's decision to extend this option to its volume-focused models reflects a broader shift in how carmakers are approaching ownership and mobility solutions in the country.
Whether this translates into meaningful volume for the brand remains to be seen, but as a strategy, it certainly adds another string to Nissan India's bow.
