Volvo Xc40 Recharge Plus Bookings Open For Single Motor Variant

Volvo XC40 Recharge Plus: Bookings Open for Single Motor Variant

Volvo Car India has announced the commencement of bookings for its latest offering, the Volvo XC40 Recharge Plus single motor variant.

Prospective customers can secure their booking with a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. This variant, introduced earlier this month, comes with a price tag of Rs 54.95 lakh, presenting a more accessible option compared to its all-wheel drive counterpart, the 'Ultimate' variant, priced at Rs 57.9 lakh.

Feature Highlights and Rivals

Equipped with a 69kWh lithium-ion battery, the XC40 Recharge Plus boasts a robust powertrain, though it does have some feature omissions compared to the 'Ultimate' trim. Noteworthy differences include the absence of Pixel LED headlights, fog lamps, 360-degree cameras, side parking sensors, power child safety lock, air-ventilated subwoofer, and the Harman Kardon premium sound system.

However, it remains well-appointed with features such as an eight-speaker sound system, two-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver's display, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 19-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, and wireless phone charging.

In terms of safety, the XC40 Recharge Plus comes equipped with seven airbags, TPMS, park assist, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts, and rear collision warning.

Powertrain and Range

The XC40 Recharge Plus variant features a single rear-mounted electric motor generating 238hp and 420Nm of torque. This setup enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100kph in 7.3 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 180kph. The model is powered by a 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a WLTP-certified range of 475km.

Competition

Competing in the realm of similarly priced rear-wheel-drive (RWD) electric cars, the Volvo XC40 Recharge Plus faces off against formidable rivals including the BYD Seal Dynamic and Premium variants, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Kia EV6 GT Line.

With the discontinuation of the petrol-powered version in November last year, the XC40 SUV lineup now exclusively offers electric variants, marking Volvo's commitment to electrification in the Indian market.

As Volvo Car India opens bookings for the XC40 Recharge Plus, enthusiasts and potential buyers eagerly anticipate its arrival, poised to experience a blend of performance, efficiency, and Scandinavian luxury in this electrifying package.
