Maruti Suzuki has unveiled an official teaser for its new midsize Arena SUV, the next scheduled to be held on September 3, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The title of the concept has not leaked, but rumors say the name might be Maruti Victoris.
The said vehicle will be the first model to occupy the revamped Arena range for the customers who desire an alternative with similar qualities but lower priced than the Grand Vitara.
Design and Features
One of the many things revealed in the teaser was a close-up of the back of the SUV where the boomerang-like LED tail-lamp design, separated into three parts, could be glimpsed.
From the pictures of the disguised test mules, we might infer that the SUV will be distinctly designed with a crossover profile, visually hitting the Grand Vitara but with a spruce up to maintain its own identity. The Arena SUV could well be a carbon copy of the Grand Vitara inside.
A couple of things the buyers will be getting are a 9-inch touchscreen system, a wireless connection for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, an automatic climate control system, ambient lighting, and so on.
However, the dashboard will most likely be different in design to impress upon it as the other sibling of Nexa makes.
Powertrain Options
The new SUV, Y17 (Codename), will probably double the powertrain of the Grand Vitara. This means that there can be a 103hp, 1.5-liter mild-hybrid engine, a 116hp strong-hybrid option, and a standard CNG variant for safety. The upgrades in the gearbox are usually expected to be the same as in the Grand Vitara.
Pricing and Market Positioning
The new Maruti Arena SUV will be going head-to-head with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, and the Honda Elevate. It will be positioned as a more affordable model compared to the Grand Vitara and, thus, its expected pricing (ex-showroom) is from ₹10 lakh to ₹18 lakh.
When the car is out, Maruti Suzuki will have a foothold in the midsize SUV segment with a car that is more cost-conscious but does not compromise on the hybrid efficiency, CNG affordability, or its features.
