The MG Comet EV, the company's newest electric vehicle, will be on sale in India at the beginning of next month, according to MG Motor India. A tiny, reasonably priced vehicle with a minimal carbon impact, the MG Comet EV is designed for families and urban commuters.
The Comet EV, the smallest electric vehicle produced by MG, will be on sale in one month. The vehicle will be built on the company's new Global Small Electric Vehicles platform and have a big, boxy stance and compact design. The Comet EV will have dual vertically stacked headlights, LED daytime running lamps, and a two-tone front bumper, similar to the Wuling Air EV offered in Indonesia. A charging port with the MG logo, similar to the one on the MG ZS EV, is also included in the vehicle.
Despite its small size, the MG Comet EV promises to deliver comfort and convenience features. With a dual-tone layered dashboard, stylish air conditioning vents, conventional rotary AC controls, a multi-purpose two-spoke steering wheel, and a sizable single-piece screen for digital instruments and touchscreen infotainment, the interior of the car is comparable to that of the Air EV. The vehicle will also have steering-mounted controls, a dual 10.25-inch touchscreen for entertainment and instrumentation, automatic climate control, keyless entry, and connected car technology.
The Wuling Air EV and the MG Comet EV are planned to each offer two battery pack configurations. The higher-end variant will have a 26.7kWh battery pack, giving a range of roughly 300km on a single charge, while the base variant will have a 17.3kWh battery pack with a range of 200km.
