Mercedes-AMG G63 India-Inspired Collector’s Edition Launch

Mercedes-Benz India introduces the G63 Collector’s Edition, celebrating India’s rich heritage through exclusive design and trim. Limited in number and fully configured domestically, this high-performance SUV retains its 585 hp V8 heart while showcasing bespoke India-inspired aesthetics.

Mercedes-Benz is redefining luxury with its G63 Collector’s edition, crafted specifically to reflect the “rich Indian landscape.” This model was developed entirely by the Indian Mercedes-Benz Research and Development team.

It features unique exterior trim and special paint options inspired by the country’s diverse culture. Let’s see what it has in store for us.

Performance You Know and Love

Under the hood, nothing has changed; it still carries over the same 585 hp, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid assistance, delivering 850 Nm of torque and an extra 22 hp boost from its 48V system.

Additionally, it is mated to a 9-speed DCT gearbox and the 4Matic all-wheel‐drive system, which promises the same exhilarating acceleration and off-road prowess that G-Class enthusiasts adore.

Exclusive Production Run

This will be the first India-special model from Mercedes-AMG. Production is strictly limited, ensuring exclusivity for discerning buyers. Early indications suggest a premium over the regular G63’s ex-showroom price of ₹3.64 crore, but for collectors and luxury SUV lovers, the bespoke touches and rarity justify the extra investment.

What to Expect on June 12

On June 12, Mercedes-Benz India will announce official pricing and reservation details. Prospective buyers can anticipate:

  • Bespoke colour options, possibly drawing from traditional Indian hues.

  • Custom upholstery patterns inspired by local textiles and motifs.

  • Special interior and exterior trim pieces unique to this edition.

  • Limited unit allocation, making it a coveted addition to any collection.

Comparison with Other Indian Specials

The G63 Collector’s Edition joins a growing club of India-configured luxury specials following the trend set by the upcoming Range Rover Himalayan Edition. These models cater to clients seeking exclusivity and cultural resonance, marrying global performance standards with local flair.

Why It Matters

High-end luxury customers value both performance and personality. By introducing an India-inspired G63, Mercedes-AMG not only strengthens its bond with the market but also celebrates local artistry on a global platform.

This move underlines India’s importance as a key player in the luxury automotive segment.

In summary, the Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector’s Edition promises to be more than just a cosmetic upgrade. It’s a celebration of India’s cultural richness, wrapped around an automotive icon, since it is available only in limited quantities. Seize the opportunity before it slips out!
