How to Get a Rs 340 Monthly Toll Pass If You Live Near a Toll Plaza

If you are regularly commuting to work or school, living within 20 kilometers of a toll plaza is good news. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has made available a monthly toll pass for Rs 340 for people who live near the toll plaza. The unlimited trips monthly pass provides relief to residents who have a duty to cross tolls on a regular basis for work, school, or running errands.

If you live near a toll plaza and drive through a toll road often, NHAI has exciting news to offer. To keep affordable transportation as a reality for extended residents who have to travel through a toll area on a day-to-day basis, NHAI has made available a monthly toll pass for only Rs. 340.

The pass offers unlimited trips through the toll plaza that the pass is registered to, on a monthly basis. This pricing is a progressive approach to alleviate the costs to individuals who have to cross a toll each day for work, school, or other important use.

Who Can Apply for the Rs 340 Monthly Toll Pass?

In order to participate the following criteria or conditions must be satisfied:

  • Residency: You must reside within 20 km of the toll plaza at which you apply for the pass.

  • Proof of residency: You must provide proof of your residency, through an Aadhaar card, voter ID, utility bill or rental agreement, that clearly identifies your local address.

  • Vehicle owner: The pass is exclusive to private vehicles and not commercial vehicles. Commercial vehicle owners may have other type, terms and rates.

Why this Scheme is Important

This scheme is great for commuters crossing toll roads that have to travel for work-relocation, business, or studying in these areas. Considering the rise in fuel costs and the costs of travelling, the expense involved with moving between regular toll use becomes excessive and there is wasted infrastructure being used for less than economical purposes.

If a commuter is moving locally from a permanent address where they may own a home within 20 km, these receipts may create many administrative headaches. For a small, one-time charge of only Rs 340 for the month, the schedule, subjected to your receipt, may be freeing.

The reduced waiting in lines for fellow commuters utilizing their pass on the FASTag lanes should allow for reduced congestion on the influence of local shared roadways, since highway traveling should see a smoother experience, at least in using a recipients express FASTag pass layouts without needing to pay per trip.

How to Apply

The only requirement to receive the pass is to go to your nearest toll plaza and go to the office for local passes, and bring the vehicle's documentation along with documentary proof of residence. Once documentation is approved, the pass is associated with their FASTag for automatic access to unlimited passage for a month into any toll roads where toll passes are available.

This process gives NHAI not only provides a commuter with lower-priced local commuting but also provides some ease of moving around for residents country-wide.
