Maruti Suzuki's Exciting Lineup: Three New Models Set to Hit Indian Roads in 2024

Maruti Suzuki cars

To captivate the Indian automotive market, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch three highly anticipated models in 2024. This lineup is even more intriguing because all three vehicles are brand-new additions to the Maruti family, including the third-generation Swift, the all-new Dzire, and Maruti's inaugural electric vehicle, the eVX SUV. Here's a detailed preview of what automotive enthusiasts can eagerly anticipate, with each launch strategically scheduled.

  1. New Maruti Suzuki Swift

Price: Rs 6 lakh - 9 lakh

Launch: Early 2024

Engine: 1.2 petrol (Z-series)

The fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift is poised to make its Indian debut shortly after being unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. The design showcases an evolutionary approach, maintaining the iconic Swift silhouette while introducing subtle updates to the headlights, tail lights, and plastic components. Inside, the cabin retains Maruti's signature features, including a large floating touchscreen infotainment system and a three-spoke steering wheel. Expected to hit the roads in early 2024, the new Swift will introduce Suzuki's Z-Series engines, promising improved fuel efficiency and bottom-end torque. Manual and automatic gearbox options are anticipated, with a potential CNG variant in the future.

  1. New Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Price: Rs 7 lakh - 9.5 lakh

Launch: Mid 2024

Engine: 1.2 petrol

Following closely on the heels of the Swift, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is set for a mid-2024 launch. Like its hatchback counterpart, the fourth-gen Dzire is expected to feature an evolutionary design, significant interior updates, and a comprehensive equipment list. Sharing the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with the Swift, the Dzire will offer manual, automatic, and CNG options. Maruti aims to build on the Dzire's success as the bestselling sedan, making it a comprehensive update for the model.

  1. Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV

Price: Rs 23 lakh - 25 lakh

Launch: Late 2024

Battery: 48kWh, 60kWh

Marking Maruti Suzuki's entry into the electric vehicle arena, the eVX SUV is set to make its Indian debut in late 2024. Drawing inspiration from the Grand Vitara SUV and the Fronx crossover, the eVX features an SUV-coupe-like rear-end. Internally, premium elements such as a twin-screen setup, powered front seats, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are expected. The eVX will be available with two battery pack options – a 48kWh unit for entry-level variants providing a range of around 400km, and a 60kWh unit for top-spec trims with a range of approximately 450km.

While Maruti Suzuki is poised to make a significant impact with the eVX, it faces competition from the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, as well as higher variants of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400. Interestingly, a Toyota-badged version of the eVX is also in the pipeline for 2025, highlighting the collaboration between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota in the electric vehicle space. Both EV SUVs are built on a localized derivative of Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture and will be produced at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant. Stay tuned for an electrifying future on Indian roads with Maruti's innovative lineup.
