Maruti e-Vitara Debuts in UK Ahead of India Launch

Maruti’s first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, has debuted in the United Kingdom before its India arrival. This article compares UK-spec and India-spec models, highlighting pricing, design, features, kit, and what buyers can expect when it launches in September 2025.

Suzuki has launched the Maruti e-Vitara in the United Kingdom ahead of its India arrival. The UK-spec model is exported from India, marking the start of Maruti’s first electric offering on international soil.

Dealerships are already showcasing the e-Vitara and taking offline reservations for India after it was shown at the Auto Expo 2025. It is anticipated that the India-spec version will be available around September 2025.

Price Comparison

In the UK, the e-Vitara is offered in multiple variants priced between £29,999 and £37,799, which converts roughly to Rs 35.05 lakh to Rs 44.16 lakh at the time of writing.

Both the 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs are available in the UK-spec model, with an all-wheel-drive option on the 61 kWh variant. In India,f the e-Vitara’s price is expected to start from around Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior Design

The e-Vitara features a rugged and modern look shared by both the India and UK versions. At the front, it sports LED projector headlamps with distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs, and a chunky skid plate on the bumper for a tough stance.

The side profile shows 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear has wraparound LED tail-lamps connected by glossy black trim. This consistent design underlines Maruti’s global styling approach.

Interior & Features

Inside, the cabin uses a dual-tone black and tan theme with semi-leatherette upholstery. A 10.1-inch digital driver display, a 2-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, and a freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit are all part of the dashboard's layered appearance.

A fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats, a driver seat with a 10-way electronic adjustment, ambient lighting, an Infinity sound system, and a PM2.5 cabin air filter are among the comfort features.

In safety, the e-Vitara brings ADAS for the first time in Maruti’s lineup, along with up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and front/rear parking sensors.

Powertrain Options

The e-Vitara shares its battery packs across markets: a 49 kWh unit and a 61 kWh unit, each paired with a single electric motor for India-spec (front-wheel drive). In the UK, the 61 kWh variant also offers an all-wheel-drive setup with dual motors.

Power outputs are 144 PS for the 49 kWh and 174 PS for the 61 kWh, both delivering 192.5 Nm of torque. Claimed range details for India aren’t final yet, while the UK’s 61 kWh hints at over 500 km on test cycles.

Rivals

When the Maruti e-Vitara is introduced in India, it will go up against top electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV, giving consumers a new option in the quickly expanding EV industry.

The bottom line is that the Maruti e-Vitara’s UK debut sets the stage for Maruti’s first electric model in India. With competitive pricing expectations, modern design, rich features including ADAS, and versatile battery options, the e-Vitara aims to make a strong entry when it launches in September 2025. Prospective buyers can follow updates via Maruti dealerships and official channels.
