Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Hit 3,000 Deliveries in Just Weeks – XEV 9e Takes the Lead

Mahindra has made a strong entry into the EV space with the BE 6 and XEV 9e, delivering 3,000 units within weeks of launch. The XEV 9e emerged as the crowd favorite, accounting for 59% of sales, while 41% opted for the futuristic BE 6. Prices start from Rs 18.90 lakh for BE 6 and Rs 21.90 lakh for XEV 9e (ex-showroom). Expect up to 6-month waiting periods as Mahindra ramps up production.

Mahindra has announced the milestone of delivering 3000 units of the newest electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The announcement came just after about two weeks from the start of customer deliveries. The company, however, said that among the two models, customer booking trends suggest that the XEV 9e is the one people are favouring over the BE 6.

Buyer Preferences

Mahindra Electric Vehicles have been in the limelight ever since their introduction in the Indian market, and this reflects on the sales of approximately 3000 units sold and delivered within a limited time frame.

Per the booking trends, the XEV 9e is the choice of 59 percent of buyers, while 41 percent chose the BE 6, in all its quirkiness.

In fact, for both electric SUVs, mainly buyers chose the fully loaded top-spec Pack 3 variant, the brand stated. Mahindra also stated that waiting periods of around six months apply to both models since they ramp up production for quicker deliveries.

Mahindra BE 6 Overview

The Mahindra BE 6 is very quirky, exciting, with unconventional styling never well-known on Indian roads. It showcases an aggressive yet futuristic attitude with cuts and creases.

Modern design elements such as flush-type door handles, LED lighting, and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels go very well with the Mahindra BE 6 styling.

Five variants are available - Trims Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three.

The cockpit-inspired interior of the BE 6 has multiple features, including twin 12.3-inch digital displays for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a dual-zone auto-AC, a panoramic sunroof with lighting, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, two wireless phone chargers, keyless entry, and an augmented reality-based heads-up display.

Safety features include 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a Level 2 advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS).

Mahindra XEV 9e Overview

The Mahindra XEV 9e is an electric SUV coupe that features a sporty sloping roofline, connected LED lights, and the same set of 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. It is available in four variants-Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three.

Key features of the XEV 9e consist of triple 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two dual wireless phone chargers, dual-zone climate control, a panorama glass roof with illumination, a powered driver seat memory setting, with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety features include seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features.
