Multiple car owners in India are ready to increase the prices of their vehicles from January 2023, which includes Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Kia, and many other top brands.

The Indian automobile industry is still recovering from the effects of the covid outbreak. The automobile industry has seen an increase of 23% in the sales of passenger vehicles in 2022, which includes the dispatch of over 37.93 units.

Do you think the numbers will still increase in 2023? However, the question cannot be answered as the top mobile companies are planning to increase the prices of their vehicles from January 2023.

The government has also announced new rules and regulations to effect from April 2023, where companies have to track the real-time driving emission level to keep it on board. To match rising prices, companies have announced a price hike, which includes Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, MG Motors, and Kia Indian market.

Here is the list of company-wise price hikes:

  • Honda: The company is planning to increase the price of its vehicle by Rs. 30,000 for all the models from January, which includes models like Jazz, WR-V, City, and others.

  • Maruti Suzuki: It is India’s biggest automaker, the company has announced an increase in their price for all the models. However, the amount is yet to be disclosed by the company. It includes models like WagonR, Alto, Ertiga, Celerio, Brezza, and others to be highly expensive.

  • Tata Motors: Tata Motors is also planning to increase the price of its vehicles due to a rise in input costs. The hike is going to be for both ICE and electric cars. It includes models like Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, Safari, Tiago, Punch, and others.

  • Kia India: The popular automobile company Kia has also announced an increase in the price of its entire line-up model by Rs 50,000 from January 2023. Kia increases the price to meet the transportation and increasing commodity prices. Currently, the brand sells models like Seltos, Carnival, Carens, EV6, and more.

  • Mercedes-Benz: The luxurious German automobile company will also increase the price of its model by 5%. Mercedes stated, the increasing input price and logistics are two reasons to increase the price. It includes models like Class, EQS, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, and all other models.

  • Audi: Audi is also increasing the price of its lined-up model by up to 1.7%, which includes models like A4, A6, A8 L, Q, Q5, Q7, and e-Tron.

  • Jeep: Jeep announced a 2 to 4% hike in price for each SUV model, including Meridian, Compass, and Wrangler, along with the recently released Grand Cherokee.

  • MG: The British company is increasing the price of its models by Rs 90,000 because of the rising input costs, which include models like Astor, Hector Plus, Gloster, etc.

  • Citroen: The company is also a french automaker that recently joined the Indian market and has two models in the list, which are C3 and C5. According to the company, the price of both models will hike by 1.5-2% from January 2023.

  • Volkswagen: One of the renowned brands in the automobile industry, which also announced a price increase for its models. It includes Tiguan SUVs, Virtus Sedan, Taigun, etc., from the start of January 2023.

  • Renault: It is a french company that also increases the price of its models due to increased input costs. Models like Kiger, Triber, and Kwid are now available in India.
