Kia Carens Clavis EV Set to Debut in July 2025 with Dual Battery Options

Kia India is excited for the launch of the Carens Clavis EV, which has been envisioned as the family's next electric vehicle for launch in India, this coming July 2025. The electric-powered MPV will share similar aesthetics to the ICE version but will offer two battery packs and a combination of features and specs, creating a practical, sporty, tech-loaded, and family utility vehicle.

Kia India is moving forward with its electric portfolio with the introduction of the Carens Clavis EV, which will be available in July 2025. This vehicle is going to be the electric version of the Carens MPV, with a variety of user-friendly aspects that match the ICE version while also being an emissions-free vehicle.

A Familiar Design, Electrified

The Carens Clavis EV will mostly share the exterior and interior design of the ICE equivalent. Notable exterior design cues will be:

  • Sleek LED lighting

  • LED lightbar extending the full length of the tailgate

  • Stylish two-tone alloy wheels

  • The panoramic sunroof adds to the premium aspect of it

The interior will also be well kitted inside, with a feature-rich cabin including:

  • Dual 12.25-inch digital displays (infotainment & driver instrumentation)

  • Level 2 ADAS

  • Ventilated front seats

  • Automatic climate control

  • 360-degree surround view camera

  • Both six and seven seat configurations.

What will the powertrain be: Two battery options

Kia has not yet revealed any full specifications but sources suggest that the Carens Clavis EV will share the same battery options as the upcoming Creta Electric - two possible options which would be:

  • 42kWh battery

  • 51.4kWh battery

Potentially both configurations being paired with a single electric motor, with the top spec offering soon expected range of up to 473km (on a single charge) - this, making it a very viable option for work commutes, and the weekend trips.

Conclusion

Kia is looking to merge the practicality of an MPV with the efficiency of an EV in the Carens Clavis EV to deliver a distinct offer within the burgeoning electric car market in India. While Kia continues to remain tight-lipped about the pricing and full specifications as we approach the launch, Kia’s electrification strategy will forge ahead with yet another daring statement.
