Tata Motors is ready to launch the long-awaited Harrier EV, an all-electric version of the Tata Harrier SUV, on June 3, 2025, and an important milestone in its journey to electrification.
This SUV was teased recently in action at the Elephant Rock in Kerala, demonstrating some off-road capability-- a brave first step for Tata since this implies they want to test ruggedness before developing sustainable mobility.
What Makes the Harrier EV Special?
The Harrier EV will be the first QWD vehicle for Tata, and serves as a benchmark for the brand's line-up of EVs. This will also be the best battery pack from Tata, which will provide a claimed driving range of approximately 600km+ on one charge. Perfect for covering a long distance without range anxiety.
EV Specific Design Differences
The Harrier EV has the same strong stance and most of the body panels as the ICE vehicle, but the main body lines for the EV are of course distinct and there is a number of electric only design features, which include:
Blanked-off grille
Aero Alloy wheels
Unique bumper style, front, and rear
Traditional fuel filler port replaced with a charging port
Packed With Features
Tata is very clearly being extravagant with the features in the Harrier EV. The very clear highlights would include:
Large touch screen infotainment system
360-degree view camera with see-through bonnet view
Multiple drive modes and off-road modes (adventurous types)
Two-spoke steering wheel
Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems)
Dual-zone climate control
Panoramic sunroof
These features will take the Harrier EV to the high-end, premium category, as it certainly has the components to compete with international premium competitors in the electric SUV space.
What to Expect from the Launch
With high-tech features, off-road capability, and a stated range that exceeds many competitors, the Harrier EV is promising to be a flagship for Tata Motors. Everyone is waiting for the pricing announcement tomorrow, which could turn the Indian EV market on its head.
