2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift Spotted Testing Ahead of Launch

The first spy shots of the 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift have emerged, suggesting some minor cosmetic upgrades to the exterior and expected upgrades on the inside. As Hyundai makes plans for a mid-cycle update, this updated sedan is expected to launch around the 2025 festive season with the same powertrains and better equipment levels.

From all indications, Hyundai is preparing the 2026 Verna facelift for launch, and with the first spy images coming from Ooty, the refreshed sedan is here. While it didn’t look like much at first glance, this update will include some cosmetic revisions to refresh and boost the Verna’s place in its crowded C+ sedan segment, as well as upgrades to equipment levels.

Exterior Changes: Subtle Tweaks Over a Familiar Design

In its fourth generation in India, and sixth globally (for many other markets it's called the Accent), the Verna was launched back in March 2023. It appears Hyundai is set to give its mid-cycle nip and tuck per these early spy shots.

The front profile is covered, but the rear tail lamps look to be unchanged, although it does retain the connected LED light bar with signature dot-patterns.

Some other possible changes could be front bumper design, removal of fog lamps (which is definitely trending for Hyundai) and perhaps a more refined front fascia to reflect a more mature look. We can't be certain that the alloy wheels haven't changed yet, and any new designs could still appear on the final example.

Interior and Feature Expectations

The cabin of the 2026 Verna facelift could see more substantial upgrades. The larger infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front and rear seats, rear wireless phone charger, reclining rear seat backs, rear sunshades, Hyundai Digital Key, and panoramic sunroof - with the goal of convenience and comfort.

Powertrain: No Mechanical Changes Expected

Mechanically, we do not expect the 2026 Verna to change much - it has a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed MT, CVT or 7-speed DCT. This means performance and efficiency figures should remain unchanged, consistent with the current generation model.

With an expected launch during the festive season of 2025, the updated Verna will continue to take on the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Honda City in a segment where features, value-for-money and design are more important than ever.
