2025 Skoda Octavia RS Seen Testing on Indian Roads

Skoda might soon bring the updated Octavia RS back to India after its Bharat Mobility Expo showing earlier this year. The sporty sedan flaunts a striking look, performance-focused engineering, and refreshed interiors, hinting at a strong return in the premium sporty car market.

Skoda Auto India plans to bring back the thrill in the premium performance sedan market, gearing up for the return of the Octavia RS, seen undergoing tests on roads in India.

The refreshed version showcased earlier at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 seems to be nearing its official launch, which might happen in just a few months.

Head-Turning Design and Signature RS Elements

Covered in bold Mamba Green, the test model showed off various RS design features. Some of these are matrix LED headlights, shiny black trim accents, and sharp aero alloy wheels with a sporty touch.

The back of the car keeps up the theme, showing off dual exhaust outlets, LED tail-lamps wrapping around, red brake callipers in the front, and Skoda lettering stamped on the tailgate.

Interestingly, the door handles now match the body colour making the car look even sleeker and clean. These updates work together to give the Octavia RS a sportier more aggressive vibe without losing its upscale sedan feel.

Powertrain: Borrowed from the Golf GTI

The 2025 Octavia RS runs on a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol TSI engine working together with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This combination provides 261bhp and 370Nm of torque matching the same specs as the Volkswagen Golf GTI's powertrain. It offers a lively driving experience with snappy throttle responses and smooth gear changes.

Interior Upgrades: Athletic Meets Luxe

Inside the cabin, the Octavia RS brings you sport seats stitched with red accents, a blacked-out interior theme, and unique RS-style design touches. It comes with a big 13-inch touchscreen for infotainment, a digital instrument cluster, climate control split into three zones, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a modern toggle-style gear shifter.

Excitement is growing as the Skoda Octavia RS prepares to return to India. It aims to deliver performance, advanced tech, and practical usability to appeal to car enthusiasts.
