Mercedes-Benz India has shown off a new top-end version of its all-electric flagship sedan – the EQS 580 Celebration Edition. It costs ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom) and 50 will be made. This edition marks a big 76% year-on-year rise in the company's luxury EV sales in the first half of 2025.
Focused on Rear Seat Luxury
The Celebration Edition keeps the same mechanical base but makes big improvements to the back seats. It has reclining seats that lean back up to 38 degrees, with massage and lower back support. The Chauffeur Package lets people in the back move the front seat, adding more comfort.
Inside, you'll find soft Nappa leather and fancy seatbelt buckles that catch the eye. The car also has MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, which puts directions on top of a live view of the road to help you find your way.
Exterior Styling: Looks Stay the Same
The EQS 580 Celebration Edition looks just like the regular model on the outside. It keeps its smooth shape, lit-up grille, slim LED headlights, and long rear light. The 20-inch wheels complete the look that people already love for its modern style.
Performance and Range: Top of Its Class
Under the floor, there's a 107.8kWh battery that powers two electric motors. Together, they make 544hp and 858Nm. This means the car can go from 0 to 100kph in just 4.3 seconds even though it weighs a heavy 2.6 tonnes.
What makes the EQS 580 stand out is its ARAI-certified range of 817km, which is now the longest range for any EV available in India. You can charge it using a 7.4kW or 11kW AC charger, or go for a 200kW DC fast charger, which takes 31 minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 80%.
With its limited availability, luxurious upgrades, and unmatched EV range, the EQS 580 Celebration Edition caters to elite buyers seeking exclusivity, performance, and cutting-edge green tech.
