Regional Transport Office (RTO) is an official government body situated in major cities to maintain a database of vehicles and drivers all over India. Additionally, it has various important functions including the issuing of driving licenses and the collection of road tax. If you own a vehicle in Thanjavur, according to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, it is mandatory to register it at one of the RTOs mentioned below.
