In order to oversee all transport-related activities in India, The Motor Vehicles Department formed the Regional Transport Office(RTO). Each city and state has a separate RTO that is in charge of carrying out the duties outlined in the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.
The Chhattisgarh Transport Department is in charge of maintaining the laws under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. The ultimate focus is to uphold and improve the road transportation law for everyone's safety.
Moreover, it offers a range of services linked to vehicles, with vehicle registration being among the most important of these.

The register number is an 8-digit code, with the first two digits representing state information, the second two digits representing RTO location information, and the last four digits representing vehicle unique numbers.
