The sportier and more powerful Tiguan R-Line will soon be launched in India in April, featuring aggressive styling, upscale fittings, and a powerful turbocharged engine.

Volkswagen has officially confirmed the launch date for the Tiguan R-Line in India with a price announcement on April 14, 2025. The performance-focused version of the SUV is stepping in with more power, sportier looks, as well as interior refinements.

In addition to the Tiguan R-Line, the German company will also be launching the Golf GTI in India to further expand its roster of performance cars.

More Power Under the Hood

The Tiguan R-Line is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, capable of producing 261bhp and 400Nm of torque. Depending on the region, the engine is available with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission, and Volkswagen might make either option available in India.

The new engine means the Tiguan R-Line will definitely be quicker and more fun than the standard Tiguan, built for enthusiasts needing performance and practicality in an SUV.

The Tiguan R-Line features a more aggressive design with:
