Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line India Launch on April 14: What to Expect

Sportier, More Powerful: Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Arrives in India. Volkswagen’s performance SUV, the Tiguan R-Line, is set for an April 14 launch, featuring a 261bhp engine, aggressive styling, and premium interiors.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Set for India Launch on April 14, 2025.

The sportier and more powerful Tiguan R-Line will soon be launched in India in April, featuring aggressive styling, upscale fittings, and a powerful turbocharged engine.

Volkswagen has officially confirmed the launch date for the Tiguan R-Line in India with a price announcement on April 14, 2025. The performance-focused version of the SUV is stepping in with more power, sportier looks, as well as interior refinements.

In addition to the Tiguan R-Line, the German company will also be launching the Golf GTI in India to further expand its roster of performance cars.

More Power Under the Hood

The Tiguan R-Line is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, capable of producing 261bhp and 400Nm of torque. Depending on the region, the engine is available with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission, and Volkswagen might make either option available in India.

The new engine means the Tiguan R-Line will definitely be quicker and more fun than the standard Tiguan, built for enthusiasts needing performance and practicality in an SUV.

Bold & Sporty Design Upgrades

The Tiguan R-Line features a more aggressive design with:

  • The front bumper gets new sporty contours.

  • The grille shows off an 'R' badge insert.

  • Sleek revised LED headlamps with a connected light bar.

  • 19-inch sporty alloy wheels.

  • A redesigned rear bumper and connected LED taillight set.

These updates ensure the Tiguan R-Line looks distinctly sportier than the standard model, maintaining an even more premium and athletic look that begs for the attention of passersby.

Premium Cabin with Sporty Touches

Inside, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line possesses a wide array of premium features, among them:

  • Aluminium pedals that promote a racing feel

  • Ambient lighting for mood setting

  • 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring OTA updates

  • 10.25-inch full digital instrument-cluster

  • Sport seats with extra side wall support for added comfort and support

  • Three-spoke R-Line steering wheel complete with paddle shifters for an out-of-this-world driving experience

All of this evidence points to the Tiguan R-Line being not just a performance available in the tech package but also allows the drivers and all their passengers to carry that character with a truly comfortable space.

Conclusion

With a stronger engine, sharper styling, and premium tech features, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is all set to be a tough competitor in the performance SUV segment in India. The pricing is still unknown, but the R-Line is likely to be placed just above the normal Tiguan, thus attracting buyers who want a combination of practicality and performance. With the expansion of Volkswagen's performance line in India, the Tiguan R-Line will bring in the enthusiasts interested in a sporty SUV experience governed by German engineering. Official pricing is expected to be revealed on April 14.
