Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X Launched in India
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X in India. The Speed 400 has been launched at an introductory price of Rs.2.23 lakhs for the first 10,000 units only and then it will set you back by Rs.2.33 lakhs ex-showroom. The Scrambler price has not been revealed yet.
Engine
The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X both have a 398 CC single cylinder fuel injected engine which makes 39 bhp of power and 37.5 newton meters of torque.
Chassis
The Speed 400 gets a 17 inch wheel on both ends while the Scrambler has a 19 inch unit up front and a 17 at the rear.
The Speed 400 gets a 43 mm upside down gold traded forks for the front section and a mono shock at the rear. The Scrambler gets a travel of 140 and 130 mm.
Seat
The Speed 400 has a single seat setup while the Scrambler gets a two-piece setup. The Speed 400 has a 13 liter tank with an offset fuel lid.
Brakes
The Speed 400 gets a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The Scrambler gets a 320 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear.
Instrument Cluster
The Speed 400 has a semi digital cluster with a needle for the speedometer and a digital tachometer along with trip and fuel indicators.
Overall
The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are both great bikes, but the Speed 400 is a better choice for those who want a more sporty ride, while the Scrambler 400X is a better choice for those who want a more comfortable ride.
