Toyota has revealed the new Land Cruiser Prado, it gets a hybrid system
The all new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been unveiled, which is built on the company’s TGNA-F truck platform used for the new Tacoma, Tundras and Sequoias to name a few. The new Land Cruiser Prado has angular edges and a boxy design, it comes with 18-inch wheels wearing all-weather tyres. The company is offering optional 20-inch wheels for customers who want to upgrade.
The SUV is likely to be on sale by early 2024 and will be offered in three trims - First Edition, 1958, and Land Cruiser. Each trim has a different set of exterior features that sets it apart from the rest. The 1958 trim will wear a classic grille on its face, the headlamp setup will change from rectangular to circular depending on the trim chosen. The First Edition trim is limited to 5,000 units only and it comes with larger wheels.
Under the hood is a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine with a hybrid iForce Max power plant unit that comes mated to an eight-speed gearbox. The engine produces 321 bhp of power and 630 Nm of peak torque. The SUV comes with four-wheel drive as standard and the company offers an optional Multi-Terrain Select unit. This offers drive modes like Mud, Dirt, and Sand.
The cabin comes with fabric seats and seats five people comfortably. There is SofTex upholstery and a full-leather treatment available as well. The dashboard gets an 8.0-inch infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen unit and a 14-speaker JBL sound system. It also gets a digital MID.
