Toyota Halted Bookings For The Range Topping Zx And Zx O Variants After Reopening Them Just Last Month

Toyota halted bookings for the range-topping ZX and ZX (O) variants after reopening them just last month

The Japanese Automaker, Toyota has been facing a few delivery and booking challenges since last month. The reason is not very clear or subtle, but the reports confirm that bookings for the ZX and ZX (O) variants have been temporarily halted once again due to increased waiting periods. It is also reported that the bookings were first halted last April due to supply-related issues, and resumed one year later; the top-spec variants have always been in high demand.

Pricing and Waiting Period

There is presently a 14-month waiting time for the top-of-the-line ZX trim. The waiting period for the top-spec trim level is up to 14 months, and the mid-spec VX grade has a waiting period of 7-8 months. The hybrid version's prices (ex-showroom) range from Rs 25.97 lakh to Rs 30.98 lakh.

Toyota's Hybrid Vehicle Portfolio

There are twelve variations and five trim levels for the Innova Crysta MPV. With the addition of the new GX (O) model, Toyota's gasoline-only portfolio now includes five trim levels and twelve variants, including hybrid and gasoline-only options.

Sales Milestone

Within 15 months of its February 2024 introduction, the Innova Hycross crossed the 50,000 unit sales mark in India, marking a noteworthy milestone. Customers looking for a versatile vehicle with seven or eight seats are increasingly drawn to this hybrid MPV.

Powertrain Selections

The 2.0-liter normally aspirated gasoline engine of the Innova Hycross generates 170 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque when mated to a CVT gearbox. Alternatively, the 2.0-liter gasoline engine can be combined with a strong-hybrid system to generate 181 horsepower when mated to an e-Drive transmission.

Recently, a new non-hybrid "GX (O) variant" for the MPV was also released, with a price tag of Rs 20.99 lakh. The Innova Hycross faces direct competition from other seven-seater SUVs such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar, as well as its badge-engineered cousin, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto.
