Mahindra Thar is getting a new Deep Forest green color update

Mahindra has introduced a fresh update to the Thar, now offering it in a striking new Deep Forest green paint option. This addition expands the Thar's existing vibrant color palette, which includes Red Rage, Everest White, Deep Grey, Stealth Black, and Desert Fury. The new Deep Forest shade is available across both the AX (O) and LX trims, bringing the Thar in line with other Mahindra SUVs like the Scorpio N and the recently updated XUV 3XO that already sport this eye-catching color.

No change in equipment

Despite this cosmetic update, the Thar’s features remain unchanged. The SUV continues to offer a 7-inch touchscreen for infotainment, manual air conditioning, a 6-speaker sound system, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. On the safety front, it includes dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, an electronic stability program (ESP), and rear parking sensors, ensuring a secure and comfortable driving experience.

Engine Specifications

Under the hood, the Thar boasts three engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 152 PS and 300 Nm of torque, while the 2.2-litre diesel engine provides 132 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model features a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 118 PS and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo-petrol unit in the RWD model can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Price and Competition

The Mahindra Thar is priced between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It competes with other rugged off-roaders like the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny, as well as similarly priced monocoque compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

With the introduction of the Deep Forest green color, the Mahindra Thar continues to enhance its appeal without altering its robust feature set or performance capabilities. This addition ensures that the Thar remains a strong contender in its segment, offering a perfect blend of rugged off-road ability and urban practicality.
