India's passenger vehicle manufacturers reported healthy wholesale figures in June 2026, with most brands posting year on year growth. Several carmakers, including Kia and MG Motor, recorded their best ever June performance, underlining the steady demand that has carried through into the new financial year.

Maruti Suzuki Retains A Commanding Lead
Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 2,00,390 units in June, made up of domestic sales of 1,50,150 units, sales of 7,472 units to other manufacturers and exports of 42,768 units.
Within the domestic market, the passenger vehicle segment alone accounted for 1,47,187 units, a rise of 23.7 per cent over the same month last year, though volumes eased compared with May.
Tata Motors Holds Off Mahindra
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles recorded domestic sales of 62,076 units in June, up 67 per cent from 37,083 units a year earlier. Total sales, including exports, came to 63,083 units, with exports rising sharply to 1,007 units from just 154 units in June 2025.
The company's electric vehicle business also had a strong month, with EV sales more than doubling to 14,800 units from 5,228 units a year ago.
Mahindra and Mahindra followed closely behind, with domestic SUV sales of 60,393 units, a growth of 28 per cent over the 47,306 units it sold in June last year, though it remained just short of Tata's tally for a second straight month.
Hyundai, Toyota And Kia Post Steady Gains
Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 51,335 units, comprising domestic sales of 39,635 units and exports of 11,700 units. The domestic figure marked a decline both month on month and year on year.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold a total of 31,016 units, up 7 per cent over 28,869 units in June 2025, with domestic sales of 28,441 units and exports of 2,575 units.
Kia India posted its highest ever June wholesale performance since entering the Indian market, dispatching 24,552 units, a growth of 19 per cent over 20,625 units in June last year, even as volumes dipped slightly from May.
MG Motor, Honda, Renault And Nissan Round Off The Month
MG Motor India also recorded its highest ever June wholesale sales, dispatching 7,568 units, up over 25 per cent from May and 30 per cent over June 2025, though the company did not share a domestic versus export breakup for the month.
Honda Cars India reported total sales of 8,788 units, made up of 5,243 domestic units and 3,545 exports, an overall growth of 71.5 per cent year on year.
Renault India posted domestic wholesales of 4,063 units, up close to 55 per cent year on year, and also began exporting the all new Duster during the month, with a first batch of 750 units shipped to South Africa.
Nissan Motor India closed out the list with domestic wholesales of 3,006 units, a sharp rise of over 42 per cent over the previous year. Including exports of 5,340 units, the company's total wholesales stood at 8,346 units, up 16 per cent year on year.
