Honda Cars India June 2026 Sales Rise 13.5 Percent

Honda Cars India closed June 2026 with strong domestic growth and a massive export jump, as the updated City sedan and the incoming ZR-V SUV lifted showroom footfall, setting up a robust start to the new financial year's second quarter.

  • Honda Cars India domestic sales climbed 13.5 percent year on year in June 2026

  • Exports jumped over 600 percent, pushing total dispatches to 8,788 units

Honda Cars India has closed out June 2026 on a strong note, with growth recorded across both home and overseas markets. The carmaker sold 5,243 units domestically last month, up 13.5 percent from the 4,618 units it managed in June 2025.

Once exports are factored in, total sales came to 8,788 units, a jump of 71.5 percent over the 5,124 units sold in the same month last year.

Export Numbers Drive Overall Growth

The bulk of this growth came from exports, which shot up from a modest 506 units in June 2025 to 3,545 units in June 2026. That works out to a rise of 600.6 percent, a figure that stands out even in a month filled with strong sales reports.

Back home, the momentum was steadier but still positive, with domestic sales up 2.6 percent over the 5,111 units sold in May 2026.

Healthy Start To The New Quarter

The first quarter of FY27 has also opened well for Honda. Between April and June 2026, domestic sales touched 14,423 units, a rise of 20.9 percent over 11,928 units in the same period last year.

Exports very nearly doubled during the quarter, climbing 76.6 percent to 7,156 units from 4,052 units in Q2 FY26.

Put together, Honda's domestic and export sales for the quarter stood at 21,579 units, translating to year on year growth of 35 percent.

City Facelift And ZR-V Lift Showroom Traffic

Much of this improved performance has been credited to two recent product moves, the launch of the updated City sedan and the India debut of the all new ZR-V SUV.

Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, said both models have brought fresh energy to showrooms, a shift that has also helped push interest in existing models such as the Amaze and Elevate.

Behl further noted that improving monsoon conditions should support demand through the rest of the season. Honda is also banking on ZR-V deliveries beginning in July to bring in a new pool of premium buyers and give the brand a firmer footing in the competitive SUV space.

Bigger Product Push On The Horizon

Honda appears to be gearing up for one of its most ambitious product pushes yet in India. Testing is already underway for its first dedicated electric SUV for the country, spotted recently undergoing trials in Manali, with a launch pencilled in for 2027.

The company has also confirmed two more SUVs built specifically for Indian buyers, a sub four metre model aimed at rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue, and a mid-size SUV that will go up against the Creta, Seltos and Grand Vitara. Both are expected sometime from 2028 onward.

Looking further out, Honda has set a target of introducing 10 new models in India by 2030, spanning petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains, as it works to build a stronger foothold in one of the world's fastest growing car markets.
