Suzuki XL7 Facelift Leaked Ahead Of Debut, New Face For XL6

Leaked images of the updated Suzuki XL7 have surfaced ahead of its planned unveiling, revealing a redesigned front fascia with a single large grille. The changes could eventually influence the design of the India-spec Maruti Suzuki XL6, though nothing has been officially confirmed by the manufacturer as yet.

Suzuki has been readying a facelift for its premium MPV, the XL7, sold across ASEAN markets including Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam. The refreshed model was widely tipped to make its formal debut at the 2026 GIIAS motor show in Indonesia.

However, images of the updated XL7 have leaked online well before that official reveal, giving enthusiasts an early look at what the brand had planned to unveil on stage.

What Has Leaked

The images circulating show only the exterior of the facelifted XL7, with no glimpse of the cabin so far. The most noticeable update is at the front, where Suzuki has moved away from the current car's two-tier grille layout. The outgoing model features a larger upper grille with a smaller unit beneath it.

On the facelift, these have been merged into a single, larger grille that stretches across almost the full height of the front fascia, finished entirely in black.

Changes To The Front Fascia

A number plate housing sits within a thick plastic plaque at the centre of the new grille, while a faux skid plate below it gets a silver finish for a slightly rugged look.

Just above the grille, a band of chrome detailing creates the impression of a connected headlamp design, a touch that will likely divide opinion among buyers.

Certain variants appear to swap this chrome strip for a blacked-out finish instead. The fog lamp housings have also been redesigned, with the lighting elements themselves appearing slimmer than before. The main headlamps, being more functional components, seem to carry over largely unchanged.

At the rear, the design looks largely similar to the outgoing car, though earlier spy shots had suggested the tail lamps may now get a smoked treatment for a sportier appearance.

Other Expected Updates

Suzuki appears to have redesigned the alloy wheels for the facelifted XL7, with black, or black and chrome dual-tone finishes likely depending on the variant chosen.

While the cabin has not been shown in the leaked photographs, a larger infotainment touchscreen is expected as part of the update.

The three-row XL7 continues to be differentiated from its India-spec cousin, the Maruti Suzuki XL6, primarily through its second-row bench seating, which allows for additional passenger capacity.

Powertrain And India Implications

Under the bonnet, the facelifted XL7 is expected to continue with the same 1.5 litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance, unchanged from the current model.

As for whether these exterior updates will make their way to the Maruti Suzuki XL6 sold in India, the manufacturer is yet to offer any official confirmation.

Given that both models have shared a closely related design language so far, there remains a reasonable possibility that the revised styling could eventually be adopted for the India-spec version as well.
