Price Hikes & Offers: Which Brands Made the List?

July 2026 has brought a mixed bag for Indian car buyers, with Toyota and BYD increasing prices across several models while Hyundai has rolled out generous discounts and benefits on its passenger vehicle range, giving shoppers plenty to weigh up this month.

  • Toyota and BYD have raised prices on select models this month, while Hyundai has announced fresh discounts across its range.
  • Buyers eyeing an SUV, sedan or EV in July 2026 will find both savings and added costs depending on the brand.

Toyota Raises Prices Across Four Models

Toyota Kirloskar Motor began July on a firmer pricing note, increasing costs on the Glanza, Taisor, Rumion and Hyryder. The hikes range from roughly two and a half per cent to just over four per cent, depending on the model and variant chosen.

Rising input costs appear to be behind the move, a familiar refrain across the industry this year.

Model-Wise Toyota Price Hike (Ex-Showroom)

Toyota ModelPrice Hike July 2026Current Prices (ex-showroom)
GlanzaUp to Rs 33,000₹6.46 lakh - ₹9.64 lakh
HyryderUp to Rs 32,000₹10.99 lakh - ₹20.19 lakh
RumionUp to Rs 29,000₹9.56 lakh - ₹13.86 lakh
TaisorUp to Rs 23,500₹7.25 lakh - ₹12.63 lakh

Glanza Sees the Steepest Jump

The Glanza, Toyota's most affordable offering, has taken the biggest hit, with prices climbing by up to Rs 33,000. The Hyryder follows closely with a rise of up to Rs 32,000, while the Rumion and Taisor, both derived from Maruti Suzuki platforms, have gone up by Rs 29,000 and Rs 23,500 respectively.

Notably, the Hyryder's Strong Hybrid variants have been spared this round. This is not the first hike of the year either, with Toyota having already adjusted prices in February and April.

BYD Increases EV Prices, Adds New Variant

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has also revised prices this month, with select variants of the Atto 3, Seal and Sealion 7 going up by between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh from July 01, 2026.

The company has cited rising input costs, inflationary pressure and ongoing investment in technology and dealership expansion as the reasoning behind the revision. Some Atto 3 variants and the entire eMAX 7 line-up remain untouched for now.

eMAX 7 Comfort Variant Joins the Range

Alongside the price correction, BYD has widened the eMAX 7 line-up with a new Comfort variant priced from Rs 27.90 lakh ex-showroom.

The highlight here is a larger 71.8kWh battery pack, previously reserved for pricier trims, now made available at a comparatively accessible entry point. This should appeal to buyers chasing a longer range without stretching too far into the premium end of the lineup.

Hyundai Counters with Benefits Worth Up to Rs 1 Lakh

While Toyota and BYD tighten their pricing, Hyundai Motor India has gone the other way, unveiling consumer offers worth up to Rs 1,00,000 across its passenger vehicle range for July. The scheme bundles cash discounts, exchange bonuses, scrappage incentives, upgrade bonuses and category specific benefits for corporate, government and rural buyers.

Creta and Verna Lead the Discount List

The Creta petrol tops the list with benefits reaching a full lakh, while the outgoing Verna generation follows with up to Rs 95,000 on offer. The Creta Electric brings benefits of Rs 85,000, and the Alcazar petrol offers up to Rs 75,000.

Entry level models have not been left out either, with the Grand i10 Nios eligible for benefits up to Rs 70,000. Hyundai has also lined up finance schemes through several banks, including funding of up to 100 per cent on-road cost on select models and interest rates starting from 7.80 per cent.

Buyers are advised to confirm exact figures with their nearest dealership, since offers and hikes alike can vary by variant, location and stock availability. For exact offers, check with your nearest dealership.
