Skoda Kylaq Vs Skoda Kushaq Exterior And Interior Design Compared

Skoda Kylaq vs Skoda Kushaq: Exterior and Interior Design Compared

The Skoda Kylaq is the latest addition to Skoda's SUV lineup in India, positioned below the Skoda Kushaq in size and price. While they share several features, they have notable differences in design and other elements.

Let's dive into the exterior, interior, and specifications of the Skoda Kylaq and Skoda Kushaq.

Front Design

Both SUVs feature Skoda’s signature grille, though the Kushaq adds a chrome surround. The Kylaq sports a modern split-headlight design with LED DRLs and projector headlights above the front bumper. The Kushaq has headlights on each side of the grille, with fog lamps positioned below—an element the Kylaq lacks. Both SUVs include blacked-out bumper sections and silver skid plates, though the Kushaq also adds faux vents with chrome detailing.

Side Profile

At a glance, the side profiles look similar, but the Kushaq has distinctive shoulder lines and a Skoda badge on the front fenders, both absent on the Kylaq. Roof rails differ too: the Kylaq uses traditional silver-colored rails, while the Kushaq has flush-fitting black rails. Both SUVs sport 17-inch alloy wheels, black door cladding, and turn indicators on the ORVMs. The Kylaq wheels have a dual-tone design, while the Kushaq features silver wheels.

Rear Design

The Kylaq has wraparound tail lights connected by black trim with "Skoda" lettering, whereas the Kushaq's tail lights are split. Reflector placement also varies; on the Kushaq, they’re on the rear bumper, while the Kylaq places them on the rear fenders. Both models have blacked-out bumpers, silver skid plates, rear wipers, shark-fin antennas, and high-mounted stop lamps.

Interior and Features

The Kylaq and Kushaq share several interior elements, including a dual-tone black and grey cabin, a 2-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch digital driver display, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both offer a single-pane sunroof, electrically adjustable ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents.

However, a few details set them apart: the Kushaq has a gloss-black trim around the touchscreen extending along the dashboard, while the Kylaq uses a grey trim. The Kylaq’s AC vents are surrounded by hexagonal chrome, while the Kushaq’s vents are rectangular. Both SUVs come with dual-tone leatherette seats, adjustable headrests, and center armrests for both front and rear passengers.

Safety Features

Both models include:

  • Six airbags (standard)

  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • Hill hold control

  • Traction control

  • Rear-view camera

Powertrain Options

The Skoda Kylaq offers a single 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the Kushaq has both 1-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines.
