Skoda Kodiaq Lounge 5-Seater Launched at Rs 39.99 Lakh

Skoda has expanded its Kodiaq SUV lineup in India with a new entry-level Lounge variant priced at Rs 39.99 lakh. Unlike the existing trims that come with a three-row, seven-seat layout, the Lounge introduces a 5-seater configuration, bringing in more boot space while retaining the SUV’s luxury appeal.

Skoda has been among the most up-market product brands of the brand in India, which is assembled in the company plant in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.

Thus far, the Indian customers would have had a choice between two trims it was either the Sportline or the Selection, but both had a layout of 7 seaters. New Kodiaq Lounge goes against this tradition by providing a more practical 5-seater, which will be the new entry level.

With a price of Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Lounge costs less than the Sportline (Rs 43.76 lakh) and Selection (Rs 45.96 lakh), and is, thus, the least expensive of all to own a Kodiaq. There are three colours to offer to customers, including Magic Black, Graphite Grey, and Moon White.

What is Different in the Lounge Version

The Kodiaq Lounge has a minor adjustment in its equipment list in its quest to meet its lower price point. It features 18-inch alloy wheels, which are single-tone on the outside, slightly toned chrome and a restricted choice of colour on the outside.

The cabin is also fitted with a 10.4-inch infotainment system rather than a large one that comes in upper trims, and the upholstery is pinkish fabric-suede, in place of the beige leather.

One of the biggest benefits of the lack of the third row of seats is that, according to it, the cars have a larger boot space, but with the help of sliding second-row seats and reclining ones, it can be enlarged. It has omitted some of their luxury features, including ventilated and massaging seats, powered co-Driver seat, powered tailgate and the 360-degree camera.

Features and Engine Specs

The Kodiaq Lounge, regardless of being the base version, is still generously powered with 9 airbags, panoramic sunroof, triple-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, two wireless chargers, and a 9-speaker audio system.

Its engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol, producing 204 PS and 320 Nm, and features a 7-speed dual-clutch automated transmission.

Conclusion

The new Lounge version will ensure that Skoda reaches more customers with that full-size, spacious and rich premium SUV without necessarily needing the third row. The usefulness of the increased size of the boot and the entry price will help it compete well with the highly priced SUVs in India.
