Q3 is a third-generation Audi and is arriving in India way before compared to the previous 2011 model. Media drives are already taking place in Europe before its introduction there in October, and India is much later with the new Q3 coming in by the year 2026 and maybe even within the third quarter itself.
Audi has put the Q3 as its first car to launch in the assembly line, meaning it has surpassed other vehicles, including the A5 (which will be launched next month), new Q5, A6, and Q6 e-tron, among others.
Powertrain and Platform Specifications
The India-spec Q3 will be powered by a 204hp, 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission gearbox that is based on the new MQB platform of Volkswagen Group.
Notably, Quattro all-wheel drive will be offered as standard, and this will be the only entry-level luxury SUV in India to provide this feature. Europe will have several choices of powertrains, like diesel engine, plug-in hybrid, but India will concentrate on petrol to match the market demand.
Dimensions, Styling and Features
The new-gen Q3 is even a little longer than the old one (40mm) in length, and the lengthening is evident as most noticeable in the front overhangs. It is designed using the new language of Audi, with snappier lines in the design, split LED headlamps, and an aggressive posture. The SUV will also come in two body styles, which will include the standard SUV and the sporty Sportback SUV.
The cabin of the Q3 has been completely modernised on the inside. It has a 12.8-inch touchscreen at the centre of the dashboard that is accompanied by an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and an HUD. Finishing touches and quality items are also upgrades that enhance the experience in the in-cabin setup.
Pricing and Rivals
Audi will price the new Q3 in the range of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will be against some of its main competitors, including BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. With the popularity of the Q3 since its initial market release in 2012 in India, it can even be seen that this updated model would be extremely important in Audi's strategy aimed at turning back the tides in the entry-luxury SUV segment.
