The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV, Toyota's first all-electric SUV for India, was introduced.
The new EV has two battery options, a range of up to 543 km, and many amenities.
With the official launch of the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV, Toyota has made a big move into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) industry. The Ebella, positioned as the brand's first mass-market all-electric SUV, indicates Toyota's intention to take on the growing EV market in India.
Although it has a lot in common with the impending Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Toyota has added unique features and design elements to set it apart for local consumers.
Interior Highlights, Comfort, and Design
The Urban Cruiser Ebella has a striking presence thanks to its 18-inch alloy wheels, contemporary LED lighting, and distinctive SUV design.
Convenience and comfort features abound in the cabin, including reclining and sliding rear seats, ambient lighting in a variety of colours, ventilated seats, and a high-end JBL sound system.
The dashboard's dual-screen configuration, which includes a 10.1-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display, as well as wireless smartphone connectivity, makes driving both technologically advanced and intuitive.
Range, Power, and Charging
There are two lithium-ion battery pack variants available for the Ebella. About 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque are produced by the smaller 49 kWh variant, while 172 bhp and the same torque are produced by the bigger 61 kWh pack.
In an effort to lessen range anxiety for longer trips, Toyota claims that the larger battery type may reach an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km on a single charge.
Although Toyota has not yet provided particular charge durations, the SUV is compatible with both AC home charging and fast DC charging.
Security and Technology
A Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, which includes functions like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping aid, has been implemented to improve safety.
Additionally, a 360-degree camera, seven airbags, and tire pressure monitoring are standard on the car, guaranteeing the safety of its occupants.
What Can Buyers Expect Next?
Toyota is anticipated to release complete pricing and variant details shortly. Reservations for the Urban Cruiser Ebella have already begun with a token payment of Rs 25,000. The SUV is anticipated to have a competitive price point in the mid-size EV market, where it will face off against other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and others that are now on the market or have been announced in India.
